Chapter Thirty One
Arianna groggily opened her eyes and found herself, lying in a bed at the Hospital Wing, her vision was still quite blurry and her head was still pounding. She tried recalling the happenings of last night, failing to remember what happened next after the werewolf slashed her left arm.
She looked down at her wounded arm, feeling a bit thankful that it wasn’t her wand arm that got wounded. She still felt a bit sore but she still tried sitting up, of course she failed miserably. As she was regaining her vision; she heard her bed’s curtains opening, and someone approaching; taking a seat on the chair beside her bed,
Arianna rubbed her eyes, and looked at her visitor.
“Black?” she asked, her voice hoarse. Sirius smiled weakly,
“How are you feeling?” he asked, as Arianna tried sitting up
“Sore.” She mumbled, as she failed miserably at her attempt of sitting up “What are you doing here?” she asked, eyeing him curiously as she tried sitting up again
“I’d tell you but then I’d have to kill you,” he said mysteriously “get back to rest, stop trying to get up you’ll end up hurting yourself.”
Arianna narrowed her eyes at him, as he started getting up.
“I’ll tell you later don’t worry,” said Sirius, obviously seeing the look on her face, Arianna smiled “just get some more rest.”
Arianna glanced at a nearby clock and saw that it was not even six am yet, that would explain the absence of the morning light. She looked back at Sirius whose back was now turned to her, she then noticed the bandages on Sirius’ back and how he couldn’t walk properly.
“Black?” she called, Sirius stopped and turned
“Yeah?”
“Tell me.” She said “Now.”
Sirius sighed
“Later.” He said, Arianna; with all her might sat up,
“Tell me now,” she persisted “I’m starting to have… Theories…” she said the last part rather quietly, Sirius stiffened.
“What do you mean?” He asked, in a low voice
“I have a theory…” Arianna repeated quietly “I think I know what really happened last night… Why you’re here… And what happened to you…”
Sirius took a breath and headed back to the seat next to Arianna’s bed, Arianna looked at him hopefully
“Are you going to tell me now?” she asked, catching her breath as Sirius stared at her with such intensity, Sirius shook his head; his soft grey eyes staring into her dark ones
“I want to hear your theories first.” He said quietly, Arianna sighed
“It’s really stupid…” she mumbled,
“Well let’s hear it.” Said Sirius, Arianna looked up at him and straight into his eyes; as soon as her eyes met his she was sure now. She didn’t need Sirius’ reassurance.
