Carter
I have been waiting to visit Adelaide in the hospital, but she doesn't remember me or what I was to her. Her mom asked me to not come to the hospital. She's confused, and she didn't want me to add to her confusion. She also tells me that she's been asking for Ella and doesn't know what to tell her. I think I'm going to call Ella. Maybe Ella will see that Adelaide needs her and come to her.
Actually, I can't let them be friends again after the way Ella treated her. Adelaide may not remember, but I'll remember for the both of us and keep Adelaide safe. Ella isn't safe for her. Jack has been staying away from Adelaide, since I told him Adelaide doesn't remember. I could tell he really wants to go to see her. The best thing right now is not to overwhelming her.
Now, I'm siting in my office staring at Adelaide's desk wishing she was still siting there, with her wide smiled. She always lightened up any room she walked into. The whole office was more airy with her here. Everyone loved her and is feeling her lost. Even with all the drama, people still ask me where she is and when she is coming back. I have no idea what to tell them.
I couldn't bring myself to even hire a temp. I can't see someone else at Adelaide desk ever. Not with the chance that she could remember and come back to me. I have a meeting with my therapist that I have been seeing early this morning. I couldn't help but feel entirely responsible for Adelaide getting hurt.
My therapist told me that I couldn't have known that it was going to end like this and that wasn't my fault. What was my fault is how I treated her when were together. I wanted to make amends and try and have a new start. Fate always steps in the way. I knew that from the beginning. Maybe I wasn't meant to have Adelaide.
Knock on my door bring me out of my thought. "Come in, " I yelled. Ella walks in the room. Mischievous smile on her face. She looks like she won the lottery. It tells me everything I need to know. She knows about Adelaide.
She walks into my office and seats in the chair in front of me putting her feet up on the arms of the chairs. She lays back like she doesn't have a care in the world. What the hell does she want? I never thought I would see her again. A little part of me is happy to see her. "How's Ade?" she asked.
"Adelaide is fine. She's at home today. She wanted to take a day off" I reply back to her. I won't let her use Adelaide to get to me. I don't care what grudges she has against Adelaide. It is not okay to put Adelaide in harms way for her own selfish gain or because she's angry.
"Hm, last I hear she was in the hospital?" she questioned. She fishing for information. Information I'm not going to give her. The next thing you know she finds Adelaide and since she doesn't remember what Ella did. She'll let her in and Ella will try to kill her. I won't let that happen. I don't understand the grudge.
"Adelaide had a little accident, but she's at home now," I lied. I felt guilty lying to my own daughter, but she made her bed. She has to lie in it. I can't have her hurting Adelaide.
'I also hear she lost your baby and lost her memory. Yikes," she replied with a smile.
"Who told you this information?" I reply staying calm but freaking out inside. What if? no she wouldn't do that. Adelaide has been her friend for years. She couldn't have.
"Jack," she replies. I gasps. Why would Jack tell her anything unless my suspicions are real? she sees the look on my face. She laughs.
"Yes, Carter. Your suspicions are correct."
