Carter Gilmore
We're sitting at the table and at Adelaide's Adelaide and my daughters favorite restaurant. I couldn't keep my eyes off of Asher and Adelaide. They have been talking up a storm since they sat down.
I could tell she liked him by the way she smiled at him. She hung on every word she said and laughed at his joke like it was the funniest thing it ever said.
I wanted so badly to rip his head from his body. Shit. I shouldn't be jealous of Adelaide and Asher. She deserves someone her age who could give her everything she deserves.
Yet, I can't stop myself from wanting her.
Adelaide was sitting next to me. I laid my hand on the beginning of her leg. Her eyes snapped to mine. I wanted to mark her as mine in front of everyone. This is wrong. I pull away from her and put my hands on the table clenching my fist in my hands.
Adelaide excuses herself from the table, flustered. The waiter comes with our food and starts to place it in front of us.
"Salad,"
"Pasta,"
"Chicken Alfredo,"
"Shrimp Alfredo"I excuse myself from the table. I don't know why I just had to go to her. Adelaide walks out of the bathroom. "What are you doing Mr. Gilmore. Are you following me?" she asked teasingly.
She runs his hands through my arms. I pulled away. "No, Adelaide. I just had to use the bathroom," I stated firmly.
I didn't meet her eyes. I knew if I did I would give in. "Yeah, just like it was an accident that you touched my thigh?"
She walked close to me and I backed up until my back hit the wall. I knew I couldn't be close to her without giving into temptation.
"Just admit it. You want me" she said in a seductive voice. She laid her hand on the side of my face leaning in. Her face inches from mine.
I swallowed.
"Don't Adelaide," I warned.
"What your telling me you don't want to kiss my neck leaving your mark all over my skin?" she teased.
She leaned in so our lips are inches from each other. I looked down at her lips but I immediately catch myself. I met her eyes. I force myself to hold back.
"Adelaide, please" I begged hoping she won't cross the line that's already holding on my a tread.
"Okay. I'll back to my boy toy," she taunted. Moving back and walking away from me. She moved her hips side to side taunting me.
I grabbed her waist and slammed her up again the wall. She gasps but then a smirk pops up on her face.
I want to kiss her so badly it kills me. I fight the temptation. Instead I let her go and walked into the bathroom.
I shut the door behind me and looked at the mirror in front of me. "Fuckkkkkkk!" I screamed as I hit the sink.
I turned the sink on and put water on my face. I have a raging hard on because of her and I shouldn't even want her. She's my daughter's best friend and she has such a damn attitude.
I want so badly to fuck that dirty fucking attitude out of her.I'm going to stay away from her. I have to stay away from her. I take a breath and return to the table. Adelaide turns to me with a knowing smirk and then turns her attention back to her place.
Ella's mom, my ex wife stands up from her chair hitting her glass with a spoon to get everyone's attention.
"Can I have everybody attention, please?" she asked. All eyes went on her.
"I just wanted to congratulate our graduates Adelaide and Ella. You guys have such bright future ahead. I can't wait to see what you do with the world. Let's toast to Adelaide,"
Everyone clink their glasses in celebration of Adelaide and my daughter. I was proud of Adelaide and my daughter. The problem was I thought about Adelaide more than I like to admit.
I stood up and said. "I would like to give a speech too," they all turned to me. "Adelaide and Ella have been best friends since high school. I have watched them grown and become adults. I'm so fucking proud of you guys and who you have become. You guys deserve all the happiness in the world. To you guys,"
Then I sat back down. Adelaide went back to talking to her boy toy next to her completely ignoring me.
Adriana tapped me on the shoulder. "That was a great speech they both came so far," she praises. She hates Adelaide so I know everything that comes out is lie. I nod.
She has been trying to get me back to repair our marriage. But she's a hateful she devil and I will never get back together with her.
"Adriana it's not going to happen," I stated. She thought if she started to be nice to Adelaide I would want to get back together with her. Which won't work.
She eyes me and I turn around. Ella is tapping me on the shoulder. "Is it okay if Adelaide and I get out of here?"
She wants to go and hangout with the boys alone. I don't want to think about that boy touching Adelaide, in public where I can't touch her.
I nod. She takes Adelaide's hand and runs out with the two boys behind them.
