Y/N sat at the quaint little café, nervously checking her watch. She and Mattheo were supposed to meet for their date half an hour ago. She fiddled with her phone, sending another text, but received no reply. This wasn't like him. He was always punctual and attentive. Worry began to gnaw at her as she imagined all sorts of scenarios.

After another ten minutes passed, Y/N couldn't take it anymore. She decided to look for him, hoping everything was alright. She knew he often hung out at the park near the café, so she headed there first.

As she walked through the park, she spotted Mattheo sitting on a bench, talking and laughing with another girl. Her heart sank when she saw how casually the girl touched his arm and leaned into him, their familiarity making Y/N's blood boil.

Feeling hurt and betrayed, Y/N turned and stormed away, tears stinging her eyes. She couldn't believe he would stand her up for someone else. Determined to cut him out of her life, she ignored his calls and texts over the next few days, pretending he didn't exist.

Mattheo, on the other hand, was confused and hurt by her sudden coldness. He couldn't figure out what he had done wrong. After several days of being ignored, he decided he couldn't take it any longer and needed to confront her.

One evening, as Y/N was leaving the library, Mattheo caught up with her. "Y/N, wait!" he called, breathless from running.

Y/N sighed and stopped, crossing her arms defensively. "What do you want, Mattheo?"

"I want to know why you're ignoring me," he said, his eyes searching her face for answers. "What did I do?"

She stared at him in disbelief. "You don't know? You stood me up, Mattheo! We were supposed to have a date, and you never showed up. I found you at the park with another girl, laughing and letting her touch you. Do you have any idea how that felt?"

Realization and guilt washed over Mattheo's face. "Y/N, I'm so sorry. That girl is just a friend, I swear. We ran into each other, and I lost track of time. I never meant to hurt you."

"Well, you did," she snapped, trying to keep her voice steady. "I thought we meant more to each other than that."

"We do!" Mattheo pleaded. "You mean everything to me. Please, Y/N, let me make it up to you."

Y/N shook her head. "I can't just forget how you made me feel."

Days went by, and Mattheo couldn't stop thinking about Y/N. He realized he needed to do something grand to prove his love and win her back. He planned a surprise that he hoped would show her how much she meant to him.

One evening, Y/N received a note at her door, inviting her to the park where they often spent time together. Despite her reservations, curiosity got the best of her, and she decided to go.

As she walked through the park, she saw a path lit by fairy lights leading to a beautifully decorated gazebo. Inside, Mattheo stood surrounded by candles and flowers, his expression nervous yet hopeful.

"Y/N," he began, "I know I hurt you, and I'm deeply sorry. I forgot about our date, but that girl meant nothing to me. You are the only woman I want. Please, give me another chance."

Y/N's heart softened as she saw the sincerity in his eyes. "Mattheo, I don't know if I can just forget—"

He took her hands, interrupting gently. "I'm not asking you to forget. I'm asking you to give me a chance to prove that I will never let you down again. You are the woman I want to marry someday, Y/N. Please, believe me."

Tears welled up in Y/N's eyes. She could see the love and desperation in his face. "Okay, Mattheo. One more chance."

Mattheo's face lit up with relief and joy. "Thank you, Y/N. I promise you won't regret it."

That night, under the twinkling lights and the soft glow of candles, they shared a romantic dinner, talking and laughing as if the past few days had never happened. Mattheo's heartfelt gestures and words rekindled the love Y/N had feared was lost.

As they walked home, hand in hand, Y/N realized that sometimes love meant giving someone another chance to prove their worth. And in Mattheo's arms, she felt that maybe, just maybe, everything would be alright.
