Chapter 61: Kuroko's Basketball --9th qt: I Made A Promise--

       "We're about halfway through the viewings," said Mira to everyone.

       "Which viewing are we on right now?" asked Mikey to his friends.

       "I'm pretty sure we are on Kuroko's viewing," said Mitsuya to Mikey.

      "That's right. Is everyone ready to start the viewing," asked Mira to everyone. Everyone nodded while settling down in their seats.

       "Okay. Here I go," said Kuroko.
      "No, no, no. What're you saying? You're hurt! You're still all wobbly," said Riko.
      "You just told me to get out there, coach...," said Kuroko.
      "No, I didn't! That was just wishful thinking!" said Riko.
      "Right. I'm going," said Kuroko.
      "Hey!!" said Riko.
      "I can change the tide if I get back in the game. So, please. Also...I made a promise. A promise to be Kagami-kun's shadow," said Kuroko.
      "Fine, then...! But if things get hairy, I want back on that bench!" said Riko.]

      "Yeah, Tetsu is always like that," said Aomine to the other.

      "I wonder how the game will change now that Kuroko is back in the game," said Suga to his teammates.

      ['A rick shaw?!'
      "Damn. We keep playing rock-paper-scissors at every traffic light to see who'll pedal...but you haven't lost once!"
      "But of course. Why, you ask? Because my morning horoscope said that cancer will come out on top today."
       "What's that got to do with it?! But going all this way just to see a practice game...your former teammates must be pretty awesome!!"
       "A copycat...and an invisible boy."
       "They don't sound awesome!!"
       "Never mind that! Hurry or we'll miss the whole game! They're probably in the fourth quarter!"
        "Because you made us late, looking at your damn horoscope!!"]

       "So, we have two new people including an old teammate of Kuroko and Kise. Also why are those players look so shocked right now," said Midnight while watching the viewing.

       "That would have been Miderima and probably one of his new teammates. And that's just how Kuroko is," said Akashi to the others.

         ["I thought his trick had run it's course, but he's right back to being invisible again! Guess it's cuz he sat out for twenty minutes during the second and third quarter...," said Katsumatsu.
       "Whoa, seriously?! They're closing the gap?!"
       "But how...."
       "No way...!"
       "It's tied up?!"
       "Tied?!"
      "Seirin finally caught up!!"
       'We're tied?!' thought Kise.
      'He...something just changed about him!' thought Kagami.
      "Kuroko...," said Kagami.]

       "Oh, wow that's really good," said Soma as they all watched the game play out.

       "So, how is this going to play out now," said Koro-sensei to the other teachers.

       "We will have to wait and see how it plays out," said Ukai to Koro-sensei.

       ["Wha...."
       "I won't lose. Not to anyone. Not even you, Kurokocchi," said Kise.
       'This late in the game...he's still got the strength to go on?! And he even saw through Kuroko's moves?!' thought Kagami.
       "Damn...come on guys. Until this game ends, it's just like the first quarter...," said Hyuga.
       'A run-and-gun battle!!'
       "Whoa! Tied up again?!"
       "Guah! They're stubborn! But let's finish 'em off!!" said Katsumatsu.
       "No time!! Just go for it!! If we don't get the ball, it's all over," said Hyuga.
       "Ohhh!!"
       "Kagami-kun. Listen to me. Once we get the ball...I have a plan that Kise-kun can't copy," said Kuroko.
       'We have to end this in the next ten seconds...my boys don't have the stamina for overtime!!' thought Riko.
       "Don't just focus on defense! Attack!!" said Riko.
       'Can't mess up now!!' thought Hyuga.
       "Damn...," said Katsumatsu.]

       "Damn this game is intense right now," said Nagisa while watching the game.

        "Reminds me of some of our games as well," said Daichi as well as his teammates.

        ["What...?" said Katsumatsu.
       "Noooo! They got it!"
       "Seriously?!"
       "Kuroko!!" said Kagami.
       'But Kurokocchi can't shoot! If it's just these two, he has to pass it back to Kagami!' thought Kise.
       "A bad pass?!"
      "No, wait...! An alley-oop!!" said Katsumatsu.
      "I won't let you!!" said Kise.
       'Still rising?! How high can he...?! We jumped at the same time, but I'm falling first...how the hell is he staying airborne longer then me?!' thought Kise.
       '"It's a trick that will only work once...," ' thought Kagami.
       "Your copying won't help you anymore!! Because...," said Kagami.
      '..."As long as you pull it off just as the buzzer sounds," ' thought Kagami.
       "It's all over now!!" said Kagami.

       "That's the end of the viewing for Kuroko. We will take a ten-minute break and then go onto the next viewing," said Mira just as everyone started talking about the end of the game.
