Y/N had never liked Lorenzo "Enzo" Berkshire. From the moment she set foot in Hogwarts, they had been at odds. Enzo was arrogant, always showing off and making fun of others, and Y/N couldn't stand him. They were both in Slytherin, but that didn't mean they had to get along.

One day in Potions class, they were paired together by Professor Slughorn. Y/N groaned inwardly, knowing this would be a challenge.

"Looks like we're stuck together," Enzo said with a smirk.

"Just stay out of my way," Y/N snapped back, rolling her eyes.

They worked in silence, but it wasn't long before they started bickering. Enzo thought he knew everything, and Y/N wasn't about to let him boss her around.

"You're adding the ingredients wrong," Enzo said, reaching for the powdered unicorn horn.

Y/N swatted his hand away. "No, I'm not. I read the instructions."

"And I've done this potion before. Trust me, I know what I'm doing," Enzo insisted.

"Just let me handle it!" Y/N retorted, grabbing the ingredient back.

Their argument heated up, causing them to knock over a vial of dragon's blood. It spilled all over their work area, and the potion started to hiss and bubble dangerously.

"Great! Now look what you've done," Enzo shouted.

"What I've done? You're the one who—"

"Enough!" Professor Slughorn's voice boomed from across the room. He hurried over, cleaning up the mess with a flick of his wand. "You two need to learn to work together, or you'll both fail this class."

Y/N and Enzo glared at each other but nodded.

Over the next few weeks, they continued to be paired together. Slowly, something began to change. They still argued, but Y/N started to notice that Enzo wasn't as bad as she thought. He was actually quite smart, and when he wasn't being arrogant, he was even a little charming.

One evening, as they were finishing up their potion, Enzo sighed. "I don't get why you hate me so much, Y/N."

Y/N looked at him, surprised by the honesty in his voice. "You've always been so full of yourself. It's hard to like someone like that."

Enzo frowned. "Maybe I was trying too hard to impress you."

Y/N raised an eyebrow. "Impress me? Why?"

Enzo shrugged, looking a bit embarrassed. "Because you're smart and you don't take any nonsense. It's kind of... interesting."

Y/N felt her cheeks heat up. "Well, you don't have to be a jerk to get my attention."

Enzo smiled, a real, genuine smile that made Y/N's heart skip a beat. "Noted."

From then on, things were different. They still teased each other, but it was friendlier, more playful. Y/N found herself looking forward to their time together. Enzo had a way of making her laugh, and she started to see him in a new light.

One afternoon, as they sat by the Black Lake working on their Potions essay, Enzo turned to Y/N. "You know, we make a pretty good team."

Y/N smiled. "Yeah, we do."

Enzo took a deep breath. "Y/N, I've been meaning to ask you something."

"What is it?" she asked, feeling a flutter of nerves.

"Would you like to go to Hogsmeade with me this weekend? Just us?"

Y/N was taken aback but found herself nodding. "I'd like that, Enzo."

The weekend arrived, and Y/N felt a mix of excitement and nervousness. She met Enzo in the courtyard, and they set off for Hogsmeade together. The walk was pleasant, filled with easy conversation and laughter.

They visited Honeydukes, where Enzo bought her favorite sweets, and then headed to the Three Broomsticks for butterbeer. As they sat by the fire, Enzo looked at Y/N with a soft expression.

"I never thought we'd end up here, you know," he said, taking a sip of his drink.

Y/N smiled. "Neither did I. But I'm glad we did."

They spent the day exploring the village, and Y/N found herself genuinely enjoying Enzo's company. He was funny, attentive, and surprisingly thoughtful. By the end of the day, she realized that her feelings for him had changed. She no longer saw him as the arrogant boy she once disliked but as someone she genuinely cared about.

As they walked back to Hogwarts, the sun setting behind them, Enzo stopped and turned to Y/N. "I've had a great time today. I hope you have too."

"I have," Y/N replied, smiling up at him.

Enzo hesitated for a moment, then reached out and took her hand. "Y/N, I really like you. I know we started off on the wrong foot, but I want to make it right. Will you give me a chance?"

Y/N looked into his eyes and saw sincerity and warmth. She squeezed his hand. "I'd like that, Enzo. Let's see where this goes."

From that day on, their relationship blossomed. They still had their playful arguments and teasing, but there was a new layer of affection and understanding between them. Enzo became someone Y/N could rely on, and she became his confidant.

One evening, a few months later, they found themselves by the Black Lake again. The moonlight reflected off the water, creating a magical atmosphere. Enzo wrapped his arm around Y/N's shoulders, pulling her close.

"Remember our first potions class together?" Enzo asked, a smile playing on his lips.

"How could I forget?" Y/N laughed. "We were a disaster."

Enzo chuckled. "I'm glad we got past that. You've changed me, Y/N. Made me better."

Y/N looked up at him, her heart swelling with love. "You've changed me too, Enzo. I'm glad we gave each other a chance."

Enzo leaned down, pressing a gentle kiss to her lips. "Me too," he whispered against her mouth.

Their journey from enemies to lovers had been unexpected and challenging, but it had made their bond stronger. They had found love in the most unlikely place, and they were ready to face the future together, hand in hand.
