"If you want to leave, fine. But have you ever wondered how your father died? Was it an accident, or..."Kimaya left the sentence hanging, knowing it would stop Siya.
At the mention of her father, Siya froze.
Kimaya smirked Victoriously; she signaled to one of her men something.
Trembling, Siya turned around. Gathering courage she asked, "What do you mean by that?"
Kimaya took a step back, trying to keep Siya unaware of her men, and replied, "Your father was drunk when he was driving. That's why he crashed into a truck and died instantly."
She reminded Siya of the report that was made by the police, which she had received when her father passed away.
"But did you ever wonder? Gautam had quit drinking long before that. So how could it have been a drunk-driving accident?"
Her breath hitched. She'd never thought about it-not even once.
Before she could react, one of Kimaya's men quickly snatched the gun from her hands. Everything happened so fast that Siya couldn't process it, and before she knew it, another of Kimaya's men had grabbed her.
The man handed it back to Kimaya. A cold, twisted smile spread on her face.
Kimaya stepped close to Siya, holding the gun, and said, "I was being nice, but you just had to act brave, even daring to slap me."
She slapped Siya hard, mirroring the slap Siya had given her.
"Thought you were clever, didn't you? Now, watch what I'll do to you."
She hit Siya's head with the handle of the gun.
Siya cried out in pain, "Ahhh!"
"Consider yourself lucky that I still need you alive. Otherwise, I'd have finished you right here and now."
Siya felt an intense pain and she immediately clutched her stomach, her mind filled only with the desperate hope that her baby would be safe.
Observing her coldly, Kimaya gave a sharp command, "Take her back and tie her to the chair. She doesn't deserve any freedom."
Her men followed orders without hesitation, holding Siya back in the chair. She could hardly move; she was completely exhausted, and blood was dripping down her forehead.
Kimaya's eyes were filled with bitter amusement as she sneered.
"Where's your Arjun now? Does he love you, or was it all just a lie?"
Siya gathered all her courage and asked, "How did my father die?"
Kimaya's gaze sharpened.
"I'm known to be a liar, but this time, I'm telling you the truth. Your father didn't die in an accident. It wasn't drunk driving." She leaned closer, grabbing Siya's face harshly and, with a venomous whisper, revealed, "It was a planned murder."
Her eyes widened as a chilling realization struck her.
"And yes," Kimaya said with a twisted smile. "I was the one who planned it. I killed that fool, Gautam. Later, I paid off the authorities to cover it all up."
She laughed, a chilling sound that echoed through the room.
Hearing this, Siya broke down, tears streaming uncontrollably. She had never doubted the story about her father's accident, not once.
Now, she felt only anger-anger at herself for being so naive and for unknowingly putting everyone she loved in danger: Arjun and even their unborn child. She was completely powerless, left only with her grief and rage.
