Dandy quickly ran down the hallway, Astro's blanket in his hands as he covered it from the dripping ichor on the ceiling.
"Where is he.. where is he.." Dandy muttered to himself, his eyes darting around as he tried to see through the uncharted ichor.
He heard crying and ran towards it, he slipped but quickly got back up; he held the blanket like it was his own child as he dodged puddles of the black substance.
He sharply turned the corner and sighed once he saw what he was looking for.
Astro.
Astro sat in a huge puddle, he held himself as black tears flowed down his face. He held his knees to his chest as he muttered something under his breath.
Dandy stepped closer, holding the blanket even tighter now.
"Astro.." Astro looked towards Dandy and backed up, he quickly tried to hide his arms – especially the ones covered in Ichor.
"StAy bACk.. iLl hURRt yooUUu..' Astro's voice was strained, clearly he had been screaming.
Dandy frowned and stepped closer.
"Oh Astro.."
Dandy began running towards him, Astro tried to protest but was startled by Dandy jumping in his arms. He hugged Astro tightly and refused to let go once Astro tried to shake him off.
"dAaNDyYy.." Astro slightly hugged back making Dandy smile.
Dandy pulled away and backed up, he then handed Astro his blanket – only now it was larger than before.
"I.. I modified it so it would fit around your body." Dandy clasped his hands together and smiled.
Astro quickly wrapped the blanket around himself and attempted to smile – to no avail.
Dandy pulled Astro up, Astro now being 5 feet taller than Dandy.
"C'mon. You can hang out in my room for now." Dandy reached under Astro's blanket and grabbed his hand; leading him out of the black covered room.
Astro stared at their linked hands and lowered his eyelids. Even in this monstrous form, when all of his friends ran away from him.. Dandy was still there.
Astro's black covered heart pounded.
He knew that Dandy could be naive and mean but he couldn't help the feeling he would get when he was around.
He slightly squeezed Dandy's hand, mostly for reassurance that this wasn't a dream.
He was gonna be okay.
Dandy was here.
