After a while, we broke the hug, and Jake wiped his tears, looking a bit more at ease. "Thank you, Sunghoon! I'm feeling a little bit better now," he said, his voice softer.

"No worries, Jake. Remember, I'm always here for you," I replied, hoping to reassure him.

He took a deep breath, a small smile creeping onto his face. "I really miss him so much, and I don't know what to do. But after talking to you, I feel a little lighter."

In that moment, I remembered the necklace my mom had given me before she passed. It was a semicolon mark necklace, a symbol of continuing on despite hardship. I took it off and carefully placed it around Jake's neck.

He looked at me, surprise evident in his eyes. "You know, Jake, that was my mom's. She left it with me when I was seven. She told me that whenever I miss her, I should talk to the necklace, and that wherever she is, she'll still listen. It helps me feel less lonely," I said, offering her a gentle smile.

"But Sunghoon, don't you need this? How will you talk to your mom?" he asked, concern flickering in his gaze.

"Don't worry. I have many ways to talk to her, and I know your brother will tell me about her," I replied, trying to ease his worry. "By the way, Jake, it really looks good on you. You're even more beautiful with it."

A blush crept across his cheeks, and before I knew it, he hugged me once again. "Thank you so, so much, Sunghoon. I'll talk to your mom too."

I laughed, feeling warmth spread through me as I hugged him tighter. "I'd like that," I said, holding him close. In that moment, it felt like we were sharing not just our burdens but also a connection that was growing stronger.

As we held each other, I realized how much this meant to both of us. We were each other's support, two souls navigating through the shadows of loss and finding comfort in one another. I hoped that, together, we could find a way to honor our pasts and build a brighter future.

After some light conversation, I glanced at my watch and realized it was already afternoon. Time had flown by, and I felt a pang of sadness knowing I had to leave.

"So, it's time to go now," I said, trying to keep my voice steady despite my reluctance.

"Hmmm... So we're going to meet tomorrow, right?" Jake asked, his eyes brightening at the thought.

"Of course! Same place, same time. See you tomorrow," I replied, forcing a smile despite the bittersweet feeling in my chest.

"Okay, drive safe," he said, giving me one last smile that made my heart flutter.

After we exchanged farewells, I climbed into my car, stealing one last glance at his standing at the door. As I drove away, the familiar streets of the neighborhood blurred by, but my mind was still wrapped around our conversation.
