Sunghoon's POV

Everything happened so fast, and yet in that moment, time seemed to stretch endlessly. My heart was pounding in my chest as I knelt beside Jake. The blood on his leg, his stomach-it was too much, too fast. I could barely think. I couldn't lose him. Not like this.

I looked around, panic starting to crawl into my chest, choking me. I couldn't think. I couldn't focus. All I knew was that Jake was hurt, and I had to do something. I had to get him help, but I didn't know who to turn to. Everyone else was either injured or trying to get the others to safety. There was only one person I could trust right now. One person who could help.

Eunhee.

I scooped Jake into my arms, his limp weight pressing against me, and I started running, ignoring the pain in my legs, the tightness in my chest. I had to get to her. I had to get to her now.

"Eunhee!"

"Eunhee!" I shouted, my voice desperate, raw. I could barely catch my breath. "Eunhee, help, please... Please!"

I kept running, the world blurring around me. The camp seemed to stretch on forever, tents and makeshift shelters all blending into one chaotic mass. I couldn't find her. I couldn't see her anywhere. Where was she?

Then, just as my panic started to consume me, I heard her voice.

"Sunghoon!"

I turned, and there she was-Eunhee, standing in the doorway of a small tent. She looked at me, shock and recognition flashing across her face as she took in the sight of Jake in my arms, the blood staining his clothes, the fear in my eyes.

Without hesitation, she rushed toward us. "On my! Jake"

"Please, Eunhee," I gasped, my breath coming in ragged bursts. "He's hurt. He needs help. I don't know what to do-please!"

Her eyes softened for a split second, but she quickly masked it, pulling herself into professional mode. "Come with me," she said, her voice calm but urgent. "Follow me. Now."

I nodded, my chest tightening with gratitude, and without another word, I followed her. Every step felt like it weighed a thousand pounds, but I didn't stop. I couldn't. Not when Jake's life hung in the balance.

Eunhee led me to the far end of the camp where a small medical area had been set up-nothing more than a couple of tents with makeshift cots, but it was the only place we had left.

I laid Jake down carefully beside Jungwon, whose head was still resting on the dirt, his face pale. The sight of him, too, sent a cold shiver down my spine. Both of them-Jake and Jungwon-were hurt. The fear in my chest doubled.

"Sunoo, help me!" Eunhee ordered as she pulled out her medical kit and immediately started assessing Jake's injuries. Sunoo was already there, his face drawn and tense. He moved quickly, but his hands were steady, just like Eunhee's.

I didn't know what to do, so I just stood there, watching as they worked. My body felt like it was made of stone, my heart frozen in my chest. I couldn't lose him. Not like this. Not now.

"Sunghoon, stay calm," Eunhee said, her voice sharp but somehow soothing at the same time. She met my eyes, her own gaze intense. "We'll take care of him. But you need to stay back and let us work."

I nodded numbly, stepping away but unable to tear my eyes off Jake. The blood was still there-still staining his clothes. My hands were still shaking from when I'd picked him up, holding him like he was all that mattered in the world.

Sunoo and Eunhee worked together, speaking in low voices, moving with practiced precision. I watched, helpless, as they treated the wounds, applying pressure to stop the bleeding, checking his pulse, trying to stabilize him.

It felt like hours before Eunhee spoke again, though it was probably only minutes. "He's losing blood. We need to get him more fluids. I'm going to need your help."

I nodded, my hands still trembling, and I moved closer, ready to do whatever it took.

But all I could think about was how close we had come to losing him. How close we were to the edge. I couldn't lose him.

I couldn't.
