Alicia was in the office with the twins, all dressed up in their superhero costumes. It was already 4 PM, and Risa still hadn't arrived.
"Nasan na ba yang Mommy niyo, anak? Nakakainis, huh!" She was annoyed, as they had been waiting for her for a while. The twins were just eating their snacks since the Halloween Party would start at 7 PM. She decided to text Risa.
"Nag-seen lang? Shit!" she shouted, causing the twins to jump in surprise. "Sorry, anak, galit lang si Mommy. Sorry." She kissed the twins and sat beside them. She waited a long time, getting more irritated, so she distracted herself by taking a picture.
"Ganda naman, Mayor Alice," Cath said as she handed back the phone.
"Salamat," Alicia smiled, pleased by Cath’s appreciation.
"Manang-mana talaga sila sa'yo, Mayora. Tignan mo si Gavin, nagpakulay-kulay pa ng buhok! Ang cute naman." She pinched Gavin’s cheek, making him giggle.
"Cute din po kayo," Gavin said.
"For sure, Uncle likes you more po." Cath just smiled.
"Cath, kayo na ba ni Litch?" Alicia asked. Cath lowered her head, while Alicia and the twins looked at her, waiting for an answer as they returned to their seats.
"Ahm, he courted me, Mayor. Okay lang po ba?"
"Sus, okay lang yun. Ang mahalaga, pag oras ng trabaho, trabaho lang. Know your responsibility, and take note, Cath, never beg for a man." Cath nodded.
"Thank you po, Mayor Alice," she smiled. Alicia's phone suddenly rang, but when she saw the caller, she turned it off. A chat followed right after.
"Ngayon tatawag-tawag ka? Nagchat kapa!?" she muttered, typing a reply.
"Bahala ka dyan! Pinag-antay mo ako ng tatlong oras, eh alam mo namang pinospone na nga natin yung Halloween date. Supposedly 3 PM, naging 7 PM dahil sa meeting. Buti nalang pumayag sila," she murmured to herself.
"Baka may ginawa lang po, Mayor Alice. Ganun po kasi sila pag undas," said Ate Ching.
"I understand, Ate Ching, but she promised me na uuwi siya before 5 PM," she added.
