The result was good, just as they expected. The next morning, Alicia was discharged from the hospital, and Risa helped her with everything. She set aside her anger and what happened yesterday to show the people around them that they were okay. They were now in the car, with an hour and a half of driving ahead, but they didn’t even speak along the way. Risa focused on driving while Alicia observed her quietly.

Suddenly, her phone rang, making her jump from the sudden noise in the silent car.

"Maris?" she asked on the other line.

"Ate, si Gavin!" Maris’s voice was panicked, causing Risa to look over at Alicia.

"Anong nangyari sa kaniya?!" she raised her voice in panic as well. She could hear others shouting Gavin’s name in the background, along with someone trying to stop them from entering a room. "Maris, on mo yung cam mo dali!" Immediately, Maris turned on her camera, showing that she was at the hospital.

"Oh my god, bakit nasa ospital ka? Anong nangyari kay Gavin ha? Tell me! What happened to my son?" Alicia shouted as tears flowed down her cheeks.

"He was in the middle of class, Ate. Mula kahapon, Gavin stayed silent, he didn’t even respond when we talked to him, so we decided to give him time. But this morning, during his class, bigla na lang siyang nahirapang huminga," her voice was trembling but clear enough for Alicia to understand.

"Maris, baka inatake ng asthma," Risa said, still calm but with a voice that revealed her worry.

"Kaya po nilapatan namin ng first aid. We gave him his medicine and everything, but it kept getting worse, kaya nandito kami sa ospital Ate," Maris explained, now crying from panic as her mom, Iyang, hugged her while crying as well.

"He’ll be fine. Tahan na, anak. We’ll make sure he’ll be okay, okay?" Maris nodded, wiping her tears.

"Papunta na kami sa ospital Maris, hintayin niyo kami," Risa said, trying to stay calm despite her panic to ensure they arrived safely. Alicia’s mind was racing, filled with worry for her son. Two days—two days without seeing them felt like years to her, and now Gavin was already sick.

After two hours, they arrived at the hospital. Even though the doctor advised against stress and exhaustion, Alicia didn’t care. She ran to the room Maris had texted her about, and then...

"Baby?" she cried as she saw Gavin’s condition, breaking down into tears while slowly walking toward him.
