Every time Zoe closed her eyes, she saw Lucas. It was Lucas gazing at her with a look that could melt her insides and grow flutters inside her stomach. "Ughhh!" She exclaimed to herself. It wasn't fair. It really wasn't fair the way he made her feel. She was at a loss for words. And her emotions were jumping all over the place.

The thing that still ached her was how quickly she pushed him away. It wasn't that the kiss wasn't amazing. It was more than amazing. It was the best kiss that she's had in her entire life even though she'd only kissed a few guys before. Just thinking about it made her feel warm on the inside. She kept telling herself that pushing him away was the right thing to do. She knew what kind of man he was, or at least thought she knew based on what type of woman he liked, the type that looked like a barbie that had gone through too much plastic surgery.

Pushing him away was the logical thing to do. But it wasn't what her heart wanted. In fact, she felt a little sad that she had done it and even wondered if it hurt him because it certainly hurt her to know that there's a possibility she may have hurt his feelings. She didn't want to hurt him. Oddly, despite all the things they'd been through, he was someone she cared about. Deeply.

Zoe paced back and forth in the living room of the penthouse. All day at work, she could not take her mind off Lucas and how he deserved an apology for what she did. But she had a very ambivalent mind. Now that she was back at home, she saw Lucas' car parked in the hotel front valet parking so she knew he was also in his penthouse. Should I go talk to him? She asked herself.

She made up her mind to go talk to him and started walking towards the door. "Nope." She turned on her heels and walked back to the couch, telling herself that she was just another girl to him, and he didn't care about her.

If he didn't care about you, he wouldn't have kissed you. She turned back towards the door.

One of her hands was on the doorknob when she turned around again. He probably kisses every girl he meets. He was just test driving you. She walked back to the couch and decided not to go talk to him.

Before she reached the couch, she made an executive, rash decision, that she was going to go talk to him. Yes, she felt scared. But that could not stop her from making things right after the awkward but amazing night they shared yesterday.

With stomping feet and a determined mind, she walked to the door and towards Lucas' floor. The fear was slowly leaving her body the closer she got to his floor, and it was being replaced by something similar to the feeling that shot through her when his lips met hers and locked like two puzzle pieces.

Finally, the elevator opened. But she didn't leave it. The first thing she saw was Lucas standing in front of his door, kissing a girl, one that Zoe had never seen before. The girl had dark long hair, a short skirt, and four-inch heels. At first, she felt frozen. But after a few seconds of standing there like a knucklehead, the elevator closed on her and started to go down to her floor again. That exciting feeling in her stomach was suddenly replaced by a nauseous feeling. She felt like vomiting.

Without a single motion, she walked back to her penthouse, feeling devoid of all feeling, and so many thoughts running through her head. Does he go around kissing a new girl everyday? Am I just another whore to him? Her emotions were a feeling of numbness, hurt, and anger. I can't believe I felt bad! He deserves so much worse than me pushing him away; he deserves a slap. Zoe laid on the couch and felt like pulling her hair out. I can't believe I actually liked him or worse... I can't believe I thought he liked me. Stupid, Zoe! Now she was going to have a headache from the stupid painful feeling all over her body.

Calm down, Zoe. You're better than this. She breathed in and out.

Lucas quickly pushed the girl away and wiped his mouth. "What are you doing?"
