Part 32 - Giving Love a Chance

Red pov:

After supper, we all went back putsode where Mal had a limo waiting for us.

Red: Where are we going?

Mal: enchanted lake.

I could hear Chloe gasp.

Chloe: Really? I always wanted to go.

So we all get in the limo and head to this lake. Once there, we had to walk through the woods since it was a little far from any streets. We arrived, and there was a spot with lots of grass beside.

Red: Wait, so why are we here?

Mal: I thought it would be fun for us to all hang out and play a game we used to play on the Isle.

Uma: Yeah, since you're a vk, we figured you'd like to know a little more about what we used to do on the Isle.

I agreed to play since I might as well since we are already here. So Mal and Uma explained the rules, and we got into 2 teams. It was me, Evie, and Audrey vs. Chloe, Mal, and Uma. We then started playing this game with a ball. It was fun and challenging. We all played, and I was able to have fun with Mal, so something I never expected, but she's cool. Audrey was cool, too, but she wasn't as good at the game. After 30 minutes of playing. Mal got tired and walked over to a bench to sit. Evie then comes to me.

Evie: Maybe you should go rest to keep the playing field even.

I then go and sit with Mal.

Red: tired?

Mal: Yes, you?

Red: Evie sent me here so the playing field would be even.

Mal: Well, while we rest, I did want to talk to you about today. If that ok with you.

Red: Yeah, I'm ok to talk about it now.... what did you want to talk about?

Mal: Well, while you were in that room.... we all heard a few things that caught our attention. As a vk, I care about the vks.... even when I was stupid and almost did the one thing I promised to never do 5 years ago. I would like to know a little more about your relationship with your mother.

Red: Well, she abused me for years, never shown any love, and wants to make me into her mini me.

Mal: My mom was a little similar. But she wasn't as cruel as yours.... that doesn't mean we can't relate a little.

Red: That's true..... how was your mom like?

Mal: Well, she's a lizard right now. I always keep her with me in hopes that she can grow back into a human.

Red: huh?

Mal: Fairy God mother said, "She shrank to the size of the love in her heart." And that she could come back if she ever learned how to love but..... she hasn't.

Mal then reached into her pocket from the jacket that was on the bench and took out a small box. She opens it, showing me the tiny lizard.

Mal: This is my mom. As much as she was t ever nice to me, I still wish that maybe one day she'd live me back.

Red: I'm sorry she hasn't. Sadly, my mom can't turn into a lizard.

Mal: The only reason why she did shrink to a lizard was because she was I'm her dragon form. If she was to be human, she would've been the size of a doll. It was the love in my heart that overpowered her.

Red: But isn't love for the weak and makes you soft.

Mal: I thought that at first, too. But love is much more complex, not easy to learn. It's very powerful, more powerful than any hatred you can think of.
