Chapter Thirty-One
Consequences**
Phoebe and Tim were sound asleep in their cozy bedroom, the moon casting a faint glow through the window. The sounds of them both peaceful sleeping was heard in the room. But, their peaceful slumber was shattered by the shrill ring of Tim's phone. Tim groaned as he was awaken from his sleep. The annoying sound of his ring tone was loud enough to wake the two of them. He leans forward in bed as he grabs his cell phone from the night stand. Phoebe rubs her eyes "Who is it?" She asks her voice was raspy from just waken up. "Sergeant Grey" he tells her before answering the phone.
During the drive to Lucy's house Phoebe was in disbelief when she heard the accusations of Officer Nolan being made against him. During the arrest of Serj Derian, Derian had admitted that Officer Nolan was being paid to get them intel. Phoebe didn't want to believe that as she texted Lucy the crazy news. More information was being revealed as detective Nick Armstrong was shot in the shoulder in his home by Officer Nolan. The team was prepared for their next long shift.
Phoebe sighed into the seat of the shop as her back started to ache again. She closed her eyes as she felt a wave of exhaustion hit her from the lack of sleep. Tim notices Phoebe's tense posture as he grows concerned "Are you okay?" He asks her. Phoebe opens her eyes and nods her head "I'm okay, my back hurts, and I'm just really tired" She says giving him a small smile. Twisting her gold necklace around her fingers, she focused on the sound of her heartbeat, trying to find a reason behind the uncomfortable feeling.
Tim nods his head as he eyes her for a moment before his eyes turn back to the road. It was not long since they picked up Officer Chen. Before, Sergeant Grey had called with their assignment. They were instructed to go to Detective Harper's home and take her in for questioning with IA.
Tim and Lucy bang on Harper's door as they waited for her to come downstairs. Phoebe sighed as she pinched the bridge of her nose together feeling her headache pound against her head. Tim looks over at her with a look of concern on her features "Are you sure you're okay Pheebs?" He asks her.
Phoebe nods her head "Yeah, it's just my head" she says before spotting Detective Harper come outside. Tim doesn't question it any further as Nyla comes up to them.
Harper hands Tim her keys "Try not to make a mess. There is a gun safe in the hall closet. Lock up when you're done. We going to the station?" She asks looking over at Lucy.
Tim shakes his head "No. Internal Affairs." He says gently putting her in the backseat.

The police station stood stark against the night sky, its fluorescent lights buzzing like tired fireflies. Inside, the air was thick with the scent of strong coffee and worn leather, the walls lined with posters depicting missing persons and the ever-looming warning of "In Case of Emergency." Phoebe walks into the station with Tim, Lucy and Harper. Phoebe yawned her heart a steady drumbeat against the chaos of her mind. Mental notes of the last 24 hours invaded her mind as she tried to clear her head and focus.
