(I...don't have an excuse for this or even an explanation.)
~Nico POV~
"That's one..that's two..." I muttered.
I painted my nails. Black. I kept muttering as I painted.
My cabin door swung open, making me jump. I glared at Will. He just smiled and leaned over me.
"What do you want, Solace?" I asked.
"You." He said. "To come shopping with me."
I scowled.
"You need to get used to modern life and people." He said. "It'll be fun."
I ignored him and went back to painting my nails. Will huffed and groaned.
"Nico!" He whined.
"I'm not going." I said. "I don't want to."
"Too bad!" He said. "I'm not asking!"
He snatched the nail polish bottle from me, holding it above his head. I hopped to my feet and tried to get the bottle. I jumped and stood on my tiptoes.
"I'll go with you! Just give it back!" I snapped.
"Good but you aren't getting it back until after." He said.
I groaned.
Damit.
{An Hour And A Half Later}
My boyfriend looked at all the clothing racks. I just sat on the floor, bored out of my mind. Maybe I could shadow travel back to camp...no, he'd notice and I'd get in trouble.
"Hey, Neeks, wanna check out that boutique?" Will asked.
"Why would I want to check out a boutique?" I asked.
I gestured to myself. He shrugged and helped me up.
"Let's just check it out." He said.
He held my hand and guided me towards the bright colored shop. Lots of beautiful clothes could be seen through the windows. Those are some really pretty clothes...
Will grinned at me and yanked me inside, towards a rack of tops. He picked out a few cute pastels tops. Short sleeve, long sleeve, sleeveless, puff sleeves, long shirts, short shirts, crop tops, tight, loose, form fitting. He handed me about twenty shirts then shoved me in a changing room.
"Will! These aren't my style." I said.
"So? Just try them on for fun." He said.
He pulled the curtain closed. I looked at the tops in my arms. Why am I being punished?
"I can see you not moving." Will said.
I groaned.
{Some Time Later}
I just stared at myself in the mirror. One of the shirts wasn't a shirt.
The short dress fell just to the middle of my thigh.
"Let me see!" Will whined outside the changing room.
I glanced at the side before looking back at the mirror. The silvery colored, cotton-blend cloth laid loosely on my figure. The sleeveless tops showed off my scars. The prominent, jagged lines weren't bothering me like they usually do. My hair looked a mess. I fussed with it, trying to get the cowlicks to stay down but they refused. My hair isn't nearly as curly as Will's hair but I have a few. The curls stuck up like devil horns making me look like what kids at Camp Half-Blood think I am. My sneakers matched my hair: out of place and gross. Mud and blood stains from endless battles caked the old shoes.
