A Deadly Battle

The clouds were thick, and the rain was heavy. Mujin ran through a dense forest. His right arm was bloody and his headband, which had two lines that resembled a river, was scratched.

He was tired.

On reflex he pulled a kuni from his bag and tossed it to his left. It instantly struck another kuni and the two weapons spun apart. The first kuni was followed by several more and Mujin was forced to dodge.

"It looks like they found me again," Mujin thought.

Mujin leapt backwards as he wove a few hand signs. "Water release, water bullet jutsu!"

Mujin's chest grew and in an instant he spat out six large water bullets that ripped through the woods. Several trees fell to the ground and two enemy ninja from the Land of Iron popped out of the woods.

They both weaved hand signs and launched earth spikes at Mujin. Mujin countered with a lightning spear that ripped through their spikes and created a hole for him in their attacks. The two ninja kept launching earth spikes at him, and he was forced to dodge and counter with his lightning spears.

Whoosh! Whoosh!

Earth spike after earth spike zoomed past Mujin. He doded them easily thanks to his Hatamo Clan Tiajutsu but couldn't move close enough to counterattack. The trees in the forest started to collapse from the barrage of jutsu.

"Lightning release, lightning step! Lightning spear!" Mujin spotted an opening, used lightning step to increase his speed, threw a lightning spear to form a path, and lunged into the swarm of spikes.

Whoosh!

Mujin darted through the earth spike hole towards one of the ninjas. He raised his fist and punched towards the man. The Tetsu Nin looked surprised by Mujin's speed and quickly raised his arms to block. When the fist connected with his arms a sickening crack sounded, and the man was blasted away.

He flew through the air until he struck a tree. The impact was so strong that the tree split in two and fell apart. The man flew through the tree and his body slammed onto the ground. He rolled, convulsed a few times, and spat up a large amount of blood.

Mujin threw several kuni at him to finish him off, but his partner used an earth wall to save his companion.

Bang!

The kuni bounced harmlessly away and missed their target. Suddenly Mujin sensed danger underneath him.

Mujin dove forward as two earth hands reach from the ground to grab his legs. The Tetsu Nin had used Earth Bind and tried to catch Mujin from below.

He narrowly dodged one attack, but the Tetsu Nin wasn't done. He fired more earth spikes to force Mujin away.

"This is annoying," thought Mujin with a frown, "where are all these guys coming from?"

Mujin's team had been attacked over thirty minutes ago by a large group of Tetsu Nin from the Land of Iron. The powerful Jounin who were from Kawagakure were forced to battle enemies that were just as strong as themselves. Their battle was savage and the Chunin and Genin moved away from their fight. Even now Mujin could feel the earth shake from their Jutsu. At the same time the four Chunin squads that were assisting them were attacked by forty enemies. The Chunin were evenly matched in both groups, sixteen to sixteen, but there were dozens of enemy Genin as well.

Mujin could easily kill most Genin. And he'd killed several already, but the enemy had managed to split up his team and force them to fight without any backup.

Now he was in a pickle.

Doubt had started to fill his mind. "I've already killed five Genin and have tied this Chunin down. But he's already gotten reinforcements twice. Does this mean my comrades are dying? Are these Tetsu Nin after me because they've finished off their opponents and are looking for more? Or do they have more ninjas than we thought they did?"
