"Dang, this is hard." Dandin was sweating profusely. His whole body was tired, and his chakra was exhausted. He trained diligently every day and increased the difficulty of his workouts every few weeks. In that way he progressed smoothly until he was ready to enroll in the ninja academy.
His father oversaw his training. Zanko coached him from the side. His mother cheered him on, and his younger brother provided him with a deep sense of joy. He slowly grew. But he wasn't the only thing growing. In the shadows a plot to overthrow Kawagakure and the entire ninja world was underway.
...
High in the cliffs of the Land of Mountains there was a hidden stronghold full of ninjas, training fields, and experimental laboratories. Everyone in the base wore animal-themed masks and to an untrained eye it would appear that their selection was random. But to the observant there was a hierarchy displayed by their colors and creatures.
*ta ta ta*
A tall man in a Fox masked walked through the base. Everywhere he went the ninjas quaked and made way for him. No one spoke, no one greeted him.
He walked with purpose, like a man on a mission, and moved through the base until he reach a large set of double doors. He drew a kunai from his waste and made a deep cut on his hand, then he slammed his palm on the door. His fresh blood ran down the door and into its cracks and grooves.
The Fox wove a few hand signs, then activated his chakra and the massive doors slid open.
They revealed a long flight of stairs that moved down into the heart of the mountains.
Step by step he descended until he came to a large room that was filled with a pulsating green light. The pulsation was reminiscent of a beating heart. For indeed, it reflected the heartbeat of a large animal that was embedded into the wall. Its massive silver head hung limply towards the floor and its chest moved slowly from labored breathing.
The creature was reptilian in make but wolf-like in appearance. It was some kind of ancient chakra beast. A behemoth that had lived for a thousand years. Now all its dignity was stripped away, and its blood was slowly being harvested drop by drop, drip by drip, to be used for experiments and demonic power.
Fox walked to the far side of the room where a group of people sat around a large stone table. He found an empty seat and claimed it for himself.
"What news do you bring?" Asked the man at the head of the table. Everyone at the table wore animal masks, actually, they all had on the same fox mask. The only difference was the masks color and size. But he was different than the others because instead of a fox his mask was a jet-black wolf.
"My lord, we have recruited 35 clans from all lands to our cause. In a few years, when the operation begins, that number will be forty or fifty. We'll be the single strongest force in the world, and we'll destroy the surrounding lands before the Land of Winds or Storms can stop us. With all other powers subjugated it will be not but a matter of time before they are conquered as well."
"But how can you guarantee their loyalty?" Interrupted a woman who was wearing a green-fox mask, "these clans have only accepted your proposals because of the benefits you've offered. They don't believe in our great cause, and they don't submit themselves unto death. What if they rebel at the critical moment?"
Fox waved his hand, "Are you implying that a few rebels could change the fate of the world? We've prepared in secret for a hundred years, even if the whole world stood in our way, we'd crush them all. Their help makes the task easier, but it is not our hope of victory. That is ourselves! When all is ready," Fox slammed his hand on the table, "we'll destroy this world with all its rebels!"
