Dandin and Matsuri had finished their conversation. The two spent some time together until Dandin decided to lay down on the floor so he could think.
"I can't be wrong. But I also can't stop mom and dad from taking risks. I need to grow stronger, much stronger, so I can keep everyone I love safe. I'll make sure nothing bad happens to them," thought Dandin.
Matsuri watched him with concern. However, she also knew that she had to let him process what she said. Truthfully, she wasn't sure how much he understood. He was only two years old after all.
Knock, knock.
Someone was at the front door and Matsuri answered it and saw several children. She was delighted that Taki, Haru, and Miko had come to check on Dandin. She quickly opened the door for them and welcomed them all inside.
"Hello Mrs. Matsuri. Is Dandin here?" the three asked.
"He's there in the living room. Feel free to come in. I think it would cheer him up if he spent time with you all."
"Is he okay?" Miko asked, "I accidentally told him that Mr. Mujin was on a mission. I didn't know it would make him so upset."
"It's not your fault Miko. I should have talked to him earlier. Don't blame yourself."
The three kids came into the house and found Dandin on the floor. They walked to him and checked on him.
"You okay Dandin?" Taki asked.
"I'm okay."
"I'm sorry." Miko said.
"It's not your fault."
....
None of the kids were sure what to do. They were only two and didn't know how to comfort someone. But Matsuri came to the rescue.
She walked into the room with a tray of fruit.
"Kids, would you like to have some snacks?"
"Yes please!"
Matsuri set the tray down and walked away. The three of them started to eat the fruit and it was delicious. There were mangoes, melons, berries, and all kinds of wonderful things. They ate with delight and offered some of the fruit to Dandin.
That's when Dandin realized that he was hungry. He slowly sat up and took a piece of mango Haru offered him. He hesitated to put it into is mouth for a moment. He wanted to feel sorry for himself but his desire to eat was stronger than his self-pity and he shoved the mango in his mouth.
Mmmmm...
The four children quickly ate all the fruit but before they could finish chewing Matsuri walked in with several glasses of milk.
The kids all took the milk and thanked Matsuri. They drank it quickly and started to play. Soon Matsuri kicked them out of the house, and they ran wild in the yard.
Dandin still felt sad but he had a smile on his face. "It's nice to have friends, even if they are just kids. This reminds me how I used to play with my family when they were still alive. I can't wait to find them again."
The group decided to play hide and seek and somehow Dandin was forced to seek again. He quickly counted to twenty and then ran off to find his friends.
"I shouldn't give up this chance to train," he thought. He quickly activated his Chakra barrier to practice but realized that it was already active. "I can't believe I've been using it this whole time."
He frowned because that was really peculiar. "It's like my extreme emotions helped me comprehend this move."
"I must be close to the level dad talked about. It's basically a part of my body now. Even though I don't like what's happening to dad the stress I experienced seems to have helped me improve this Taijutsu technique."
