Dandin quickly grabbed the letter and read through it. He was happy that Mujin was well, but, unlike Matsuri, he didn't see the hidden messages in the letter. He simply lacked the experience to do so.
Working together they wrote a reply to Mujin.
After meeting with Kazuya Dandin became even more serious about training. He started practicing all the different elements. This was one way that his shadow clones helped him improve very quickly. He used them to train the elements. His main body trained Lightning Release while his clones trained Earth and Wind.
"When my chakra increases, I'll summon more clones and have them train Fire Release and Water Release. I don't currently have the capacity to do that and practice the Thunder Meditation Jutsu, so I'll skip those elements for now since they are my weakest elements."
As Kazuya had said, the next day was a school day. He decided that, from that day on, he would leave some clones at home to train and study. If his rank in the class dropped a little that was okay since he would be promoted to the next level once his chakra quality increased again regardless of his class rank. If he could improve his chakra quality before the start of the second year that would be best.
The next morning Dandin did physical exercise for an hour, ate with his family and left for school. He summoned two clones and sent them to a secluded area to train as he raced to his class.
The path had become familiar after the last seven months and he navigated it with little effort. "Only three more months until this year ends and break starts. I wonder how strong I will become with Kazuya-sensei's help."
When Dandin got to his room he found Miko and sat next to her. Taki came in a little later and very soon the final bell rang, and Mr. Masaru entered the class.
"Hello class."
"Hello Mr. Masaru-senpi" the class greeted back.
"Today will start with a five team battle royal. No team alliances this time. The captains will be Dandin Hatamo, Kenji Kawazumi, Sato Nagare, Takeshi Suiren, and Michiko Kato. Pick your usual teams. Everyone follow me to Training Ground 13.
Dandin stood up and looked at his friends while walking. Taki, Miko, Jiro, Koji and Sachiko quickly fell in behind him. Together they followed Masaru.
"Do you have any idea what the challenge is today?" Taki asked Dandin.
"No clue, but battle royals usually mean there's no way to win without several battles. Everyone, be alert."
His five teammates nodded their heads to acknowledge his words.
Very soon Class 13-A reached training ground 13. It was large, over a square kilometer, and had multiple terrain futures including lakes, mountains, caves, and forests.
Masaru handed each team a scroll. He said, "Our class is defending today. Class 16-A is the attacking team. You all have one hour to hide and set traps. Class 16-A will try to find you and take your scrolls. If a team loses a scroll before the end of the challenge they'll be eliminated. Any questions?"
Michiko raised her hand, "Do we have to stick together? When does the challenge end? Are we allowed to sabotage our classmates?"
"Remember you can't to stick together so use whatever strategies you want. The challenge ends at 3:00 PM. We'll spend the last hour of the day analyzing the challenge results. You can sabotage other teams, but you can't steal their scrolls directly."
Michiko continued, "So, if we leave one participant active but knock the rest of them out is that okay?"
Dandin, Kenji, Sato, and Takeshi all gave her annoyed looks. For some reason Michiko didn't like any of them and would always do her best to pull them down. Usually she failed, but it was still frustrating to deal with.
