Dandin's tiny body moved through the training ground, and he finished his last set of exercises. These days he did as many sets of exercises as he could with his Chakra Barrier activated. He typically could make it through three full sets before it collapsed, and he'd lose the chakra inside. He reactivated the barrier repeatedly until he was out of chakra or he had completed 20 sets of exercises. His ultimate goal was to complete all 20 sets with the barrier still intact. He could use the barrier freely now and had incorporated it into his skin, so he was allowed to use it outside the clan compounds, and he trained the technique constantly. He believed that it would be one of his main forms of fighting so he wanted to be so good at it that nothing could disrupt it.
After doing exercises he'd practice all the Hatamo Taijutsu Forms. There were 10 in total. He'd do them all with the barrier activated, and then do them again with it deactivated. He'd alternate this way until he did all ten forms six times.
Then he'd practice the sword in the same way. His dad had taught him three sword forms.
Afterwards he used shuriken or do other miscellaneous activities for an hour. Every other day he'd spar with Taki, Miko, Haru and the others once he completed his morning training routine. On odd days he secretly practiced Ninjutsu and Fuinjutsu.
The morning routine took four hours every day. Sparring and Ninjutsu took two. The rest of the day he played with his family and his baby brother Hayate.
Today was supposed to be a sparring day but he had a better goal. He was going to get more advanced Jutsus.
Dandin only knew of one way to do that. It was to sneak into the Ninja Academy's Library.
Dandin and Taki had investigated the library a lot and they had learned several things about it.
Only students and teachers were allowed in the library. Security there was strict on the upper floors but lax on the lower floors where rank E and D Jutsu were kept. If someone had a student ID that matched their appearance, they could go in. These floors were also maintained by senior students, so their capabilities were low compared to the guards who patrolled the upper levels.
It was possible to check scrolls out of the library, but students had to sign them out and verify the withdrawal with their blood. Scrolls also had any theft seals placed on them that would activate a loud continues noise if they were taken from the library without being checked out properly.
With this information he'd come up with a plan.
He finished his Hatamo Forms, Sword Forms, and shuriken training. Then Taki and Miko came over.
When Taki saw the serious expression on Dandin's face he asked, "Is today the day?" Taki was excited and nervous. He loved playing ninja, but it was much more fun to do ninja things because of the rush it gave him.
"Today is the day."
Miko hesitantly asked, "what's the plan?"
"It's simple really," Dandin started, "I've given it a lot of thought and it's too hard to take the scrolls. But there's no reason we can't copy them. There's one jutsu I want. It's a rank D jutsu that's super powerful. It's called Body Flicker Jutsu. It lets you move super-fast. I think that it will make us really strong if we learn it because we'll be able to chase anyone we want to, run from anyone we want to, and attack our enemies suddenly by surprise."
Even though Dandin hadn't watched Naruto a lot in his previous life we loved this basic jutsu for its versatility. It was the only low-level jutsu that high ranked ninja used. Anything that let him move at superhuman speed was worth having. After all, the best block was not to be where the enemy attacked.
