Kazuya and Dandin reached Kazuya's house. They took off their shoes and walked inside. Again, Dandin was surprised by how small it was. Kazuya walked past a few picture frames and stared at the people they displayed. Dandin saw a mixture of emotions in his eyes, "love, respect, sadness, gratitude, pain? What emotions are those?" He too looked at the pictures and saw a young Kazuya with a woman and a few children.

Dandin could sense that they were his family, but they seemed to be gone. His heart ached when he realized that, like him, Kazuya had lost his wife and children.

The old man walked to a wall and placed his hand on it. It softly glowed and disappeared. A set of basement stairs were revealed and Kazuya waved for him to come forward.

They descended the stairs and stood in a small basement. There were a few bookshelves which contained many scrolls and several mechanical devices that looked like the chakra testing machines he'd seen during the academy entrance exam.

"Each of the machines are calibrated to different chakra elements," said Kazuya while he pointed at the machines.

"Place your hand on the test panel and put your chakra into it. Try to keep your chakra neutral so we get a clean result. We'll repeat each test a few times to make sure we have the right reading."

Kazuya walked to a glass box and activated a seal attached to its side. The box lit with a blue glow and started to softly shimmer with various lights.

"That looks like a computer," Dandin thought in surprise. He could see a few lines of text, but either he didn't understand the language or they were encoded with Fuinjutsu so that Kazuya was the only one who could read them.

Kazuya tapped on the screen a few times and waved his fingers like he was writing. He said, "I'm ready. Start with the machine on your left."

Dandin placed his hand on the machine, he asked, "how much chakra do I need to release?"

"Not too much. The machine only needs to read it so there's no need to show off."

Dandin nodded and released chakra into the panel. It glowed softly indicating that it received his chakra.

"Good, now move to the next one."

Dandin did this process with all nine machines. He repeated this process three times. He wondered, "why are there nine machines? Aren't there only five elemental natures? Could he also have a machine for yin release and yang release? Then... maybe chakra quality and chakra capacity?"

He was curious but didn't ask any questions. He believed that Kazuya would explain everything once his tests were complete.

"That's enough." Kazuya selected a few options and pulled a small display disc from the side of the cube. He said, "let's go upstairs, we'll talk about your results there."

The two walked to the main level. Kazuya sat on the floor and invited Dandin to do the same.

"Let's see... there are a few surprises. Firstly, as we both know, Lightning is your main affinity. I have established an affinity ranking system. It's easy to understand so I'll explain it to you as it will make the rest of the test results easier to understand. The basic unit of measurement is called an Ishi, or stone. Through tests I've determined that one Ishi is the requirement to be able to learn an E Rank Jutsu. All awakened chakra users are able to use attributeless charka. When they can perform the basic three jutsu, Transformation, Substitution, and Clone Jutsu, they have the capacity to use one Ishi or stone of chakra. That's what I based this unit on since it's the smallest useful unit of chakra. Chakra Capacity, Chakra Quality, Chakra Control all come together to make an Ishi. Do you understand?
