The day after, Marjorie arrived at work, her eyes were slightly red and puffy. She wasn't sat at her desk for long before Charlotte walked in.
"Marjorie." Charlotte said in an unusual tone.
"Yes my love?" Marjorie looked up at Charlotte.
"Why didn't you tell me that you had a daughter, Marjorie, I'm in shock." She said as she sat down.
"Well I don't anymore, her adopted mother told me to stay away last night, as a result of it being a closed adoption, I suppose have to respect that." Marjorie sighed.
"I saw you walking out of here with her yesterday, before autumn told me everything. She's beautiful." Charlotte smiled.
Tears began to form in Marjorie's eyes "I know, part of me misses her already but that's out of my control."
"I'm so sorry Marjorie, if you need anything, give me a shout and I'll come running."
"Thankyou char" Marjorie smiled.
"I can't believe you never told anyone!! I'm still in shock, who's her father?" Charlotte asked.
"I was young, and stupid, his name was Alan, one of my many ex boyfriends." Marjorie laughed "he left me, right after I told him I was pregnant."
Charlottes heart sank for Marjorie, she felt terrible "aw Marjorie, you didn't deserve any of that, but at-least you've got Reece now." She smiled.
"I know, I couldn't ask for anything more, but I feel so bad for Ivy, she was telling me about how horrible her parents are to her, she almost had me in tears."
"Bless her, I'm sure she'll come and find you, don't worry about it, she looked so happy when I saw you two together yesterday." Charlotte reassured Marjorie.
"I didn't ask for any of this, to be honest I'd rather not know, maybe it's best if we stay away from each other.."
"Everything happens for a reason Marjorie, remember that." Charlotte got up, and left taking herself back into the rooms, setting up for the day ahead of her.
Marjorie's phone rang, she noticed it was Ivy ringing her, she answered faster than the speed of light.
"Oh my darling, thank god, are you okay?? I've been waiting to hear from you for hours"
Ivy responded on the other end "yeah, yeah I'm okay. My mums a little mad at me. I just left for school but I'd much rather come and sit in your office" she laughed.
"You should probably go to school my love, but I wouldn't mind some company."
"Okay I'll see you soon. Bye mum" Ivy hung up.
Marjorie smiled to herself and clenched the phone in her hand while she waited for Ivy to arrive since autumn wasn't in today.

Marjorie heard a knock on the office door "come in" she said.
"Hey"
It was Ivy, she walked in and sat at autumns desk.
"You alright? I saw the way your mum acted last night, you sure you still want to see me? She made it pretty clear that she wanted us to stay away from each-other." Marjorie asked
"Of course I still want to see you, I won't let her get in the way of our relationship, it's my choice. Not hers"
Marjorie looked worried "it is her choice my darling, until you're 18."
Ivy looked up at Marjorie "then I'll wait as long as it takes, I need you"
"My love, your mum seems like a pretty scary person.. are you sure you're okay with this?"
"I'm not scared of her anymore."
"That's my girl." Marjorie laughed.

Reece walked into the office holding some paper in his hands
"Hey gorge-" he notices Ivy sat in autumns chair.
"I thought you two weren't allowed to see one another?" He questioned.
"We're not, but she insisted on coming to see me today." Marjorie laughed.
Ivy nodded before Reece began to speak "I've been given these sheets, I was told they were for you, by the way, am I taking you home later?"
"Yeah, might have to drop this one off on the way through." She smiled.
"Yeah that's fine, see you later gorgeous." Reece kissed Marjorie goodbye before leaving the room.
"Bye my love" she shouted.

The day went by relatively fast, in fact.. too fast.
"Reece is waiting in the car outside for us my darling, are you ready to go?" Marjorie asked.
"Yeah.." Ivy said as she stood up.
Marjorie closed the door to her office behind Ivy "just this way my love, follow me."

"Right, this it?" Reece pulled up outside of Ivy's house, Marjorie walked her to the door, they stood there waiting for one of her parents to answer.
Ivy's mum opened the door. "You're home late" she said before looking up at Marjorie. "Mrs knight. what can I do for you?"
Marjorie responded "nothing, just dropping her home."
Marjorie noticed the anger on Clara's face.
"Do you know..." Clara began
"Mhm?"
"Who changed every nappy? Soothed every fever? Provided every meal? My gosh, the list could go on forever.."
Marjorie responded "i get it, but you need to understand.. your 'daughter' came to find me, it's not my fault"
"Go near her again, and there will be problems Mrs knight, I will destroy you."
Marjorie scoffed before walking away and hearing the door slam behind her. She got in the car, trying not to cry.
Reece looked over at her "you okay?" He asked.
"Yeah, I just feel bad for ivy, her mum is honestly so cruel, I don't like leaving her."
"She'll be fine Marjorie, stop worrying, you're doing everything you can, you've spent a whole day with her for goodness sake, what more can you do!?"
"It's not that... her mum doesn't want us seeing each-other anymore."
"Her mum can't control her-"
Reece gets interrupted.
"She can Reece, until Ivy turns 18 it's up to her mum whether she's allowed to see me or not, I'm not her legal guardian, her 'mum' is."
"We'll find a way gorgeous, anyway .. we're home"
