The following Monday, after the eventful weekend of Ivy's party, Reece walked into the kitchen to find Marjorie making them both a coffee.

"How you feeling today gorgeous?" He asked

"I'm okay, I seriously have no energy for work though." She laughed.

"We're gonna have to leave soon, are you nearly ready?" Reece asked, snaking his arms around Marjorie's waist pulling her closer toward him.

"Yeah- by the way." She added.

"Yeah?"

"We've got a hospital appointment this Tuesday." She said excitedly.

"That's great, are you nervous?" He asked

"Mhm." Marjorie shrugged. Reece looked down at her.

"Gorgeous." He knew something was up.

"Yeah?" Marjorie replied putting on a very fake smile.

"Talk to me, somethings bothering you."

"It's silly, just forget it." She sighed.

"Marjorie- nothing is silly, just talk to me."

"Really?"

"Really." Reece comforted her.

"I'm just scared, constantly worrying, and I know I've worked in childcare for the past however many years but having one of my own, I'm excited don't get me wrong but it scares the living crap out of me."

"Marjorie, we're both first time parents, you need to realise.. neither of us know what to expect but I'm sure it'll be okay."
He reassured her. Reece hated when Marjorie was upset, it broke his heart a little.

"I wouldn't say first time parents darling.." she giggled.

"What do you mean?" He asked.

"You forget that I've got a fifteen year old don't you."

"I know, but that is different."

"How?" Marjorie looked confused.

"Firstly, you're not twenty one anymore and you've got me. Plus, you held Ivy for about 5 minutes before never seeing her again."

"You're right, but honestly I barely remember any of that, 15 years is a long time Reece. It basically feels like I'm doing it all over again." She added.

"Well I hope you know that this time.. you've got all the support in the world, me, autumn, char and Everyone else at work. You'll be okay gorgeous, you're strong."

Marjorie was fighting tears until she just threw her arms around Reece and let it all out, she truly loved him.

Marjorie pulled away. "We should leave, we can't be late. Autumns gonna kill me." Marjorie laughed.

At the nursery..

Marjorie walked into her office, setting her bag down and began typing on her laptop. Her phone rang. It was Ivy.

"Ivy?" Marjorie said as she answered the phone call.

"Hey mum, how are you?" Ivy asked.

"I'm alright, just tired. How's everything going?" Marjorie responded.

"It's alright I guess, my mum didn't suspect a thing when I got home yesterday so as far as I'm aware, she had no idea I snuck out."

"My darling, you didn't tell me you snuck out, don't do that!" Marjorie sounded a little angry.

"Gosh, I've never heard you angry. Sorry, I won't. Do you wanna go and grab some lunch?" Ivy offered.

"I'd love to, one thing though."

"Yeah?"

"Is your mum definitely at work? We cannot be seen, I mean it so do not lie to me." Marjorie said firmly.

Ivy took a deep breath before speaking "no, she's not. I've got an idea though."

"What is it?"

"We can just get a McDonald's or whatever, so we can just go through the drive thru. My mums stupid, she'd never know. There's absolutely no way we'll get caught"

"Fine by me, meet me here whenever my sweet, I've got to go now though. I love you."

"I love you too." Ivy hung up.

Marjorie clenched the phone in her hand, she smiled softly as it made her heart warm at how comfortable Ivy felt around her, it wasn't long before she heard a knock on the office door.

"Hey." Ivy smiled, taking a seat.

"You alright?" Marjorie smiled.

"Yeah, how about you?"

"I'll tell you on the way, can't have anyone hearing." Marjorie laughed.

The two were sat in the car, Marjorie handed Ivy her food and they both opened their bags.

"Fuck." Marjorie looked irritated "sorry, language." She added covering her mouth.

"It's fine, what's up?"

Marjorie rolled her eyes "there's no salt on these chips."

"So??" Ivy laughed.

"I just crave anything salty at the minute." She laughed.

"About that, how's pregnancy treating you? Not gonna lie.. you're glowing."

"Morning sickness is a bit of a pain but other than that it's alright I guess, me and Reece have got our first hospital appointment tomorrow." Marjorie smiled while taking a sip of her drink.

"That's great!! I'm still not over it, I'm so happy for you both."

They both smiled at each-other and let out the occasional laugh every so often, once they had finished eating Marjorie dropped Ivy home and made her way back to work.
