Unexpected

The necklace.

Clara had just taken Ivy to school, purely to make sure that she actually went to school instead of going to meet Marjorie in secret. When Clara arrived home, she thought it was a good idea to snoop around Ivy's bedroom, hoping that she'd find something, or discover another one of her daughter's secrets.

Clara did in fact find something. She opened Ivy's bedside drawer and noticed a blue, Tiffany & co box. She opened the box and before seeing the necklace, she read the note:

Ivy, I love you endlessly, I saw this necklace and I thought of you, I hope when you wear it you think of me.

Clara scoffed as she scrunched the note up and threw it in the bin. The necklace caught her eye. She needed Ivy to forget about Marjorie, she had the perfect plan.

Clara took a small piece of paper and began writing:

Mrs knight, I found this in Ivy's bedroom. I thought I should return it to you, since I'm guessing you're the one who bought it.

Enjoy. And stay away from my daughter.
Kind regards, Clara Rhodes.

Clara then placed the new note inside of the box and placed the box in her bag. She climbed into her car and made her way to the knight nursery.

As she entered the nursery, she was greeted by Agatha, the receptionist.

"Hello, how can I help you?" Agatha asked.

"Just a little something here, for Marjorie knight." Clara replied.

Agatha took the box and smiled. "Very well, I'll get this to her now, good day."

Clara left the building and Agatha knocked on Marjorie's office door.

"Come in." Marjorie shouted.

Agatha stepped inside of the office "a gift for you has just arrived." She handed the box to Marjorie and left.

"A gift for me?" Marjorie said to herself while looking rather confused she opened the box and noticed the note which had been placed there. She read it out loud.

"Mrs knight, I found this in Ivy's bedroom. I thought I should return it to you, since I'm guessing you're the one who bought it. Enjoy. And stay away from my daughter. Kind regards, Clara Rhodes." Marjorie sounded angry, more angry than ever.

She took the necklace out of the box and fastened it around her neck. "That bitch!!" She shouted, then quickly covering her mouth realising what she'd just said.

Ivy returned home from school, she took herself upstairs to her bedroom and opened her bedside drawer only to find the necklace missing. "MUM!!" Ivy shouted.

Clara came rushing into her bedroom "yes dear?" She asked.

"Where is my necklace?" Ivy cried, fighting tears.

"What necklace?" Clara lied through the skin of her teeth.

"The one Marjorie gave me!!" Ivy burst into tears.
