tw / panic attack

it started with seonghwa seeing minhyung nearly every time he went grocery shopping. then, yeosang and jongho started running into him at least once a week when they were leaving the gym. everyone in the group was on high alert now, worried for wooyoung.

yunho and mingi had been hanging out with wooyoung earlier that day, now napping with the younger sandwiched between them in his room when san arrived at the apartment. he appeared frantic, yeosang and jongho immediately knowing what had to have happened.

"where did you see him?" yeosang asked, concern lacing his tone.

"our cafe. woo's favorite cafe. h-he didn't see me, thank god, but he was there. i saw him and left immediately. i didn't want him to see me and try to follow me out or anything."

"this is getting ridiculous... i don't know what to do anymore. he's doing this on purpose, he wants to make wooyoung suffer."

"i just want woo safe..."

"we all do... i'm running out of ideas on how to protect him when minhyung is taking things so far."

"san... maybe you should see if he's ready to visit your parents. take him far away from here for a little bit so we can figure out what to do," jongho suggested.

"good idea... i'll ask him when he's up. is he napping?"

"with yun and min. they took him out for breakfast this morning," yeosang explained.

"oh, right. i forgot about that."

"sannie... you're shaking," jongho whispered. "are you doing okay?"

"i'm okay, jjong. just need woo safe."

jongho gave san a concerned look, but the older just shook his head. he would be fine.

"sangie, we need you!" mingi called out from down the hall.

at that, yeosang got up and ran down the hall, san close behind him.

"what happened? what's going on?" yeosang asked as he walked into the room.

"he woke up from a nightmare... and immediately started panicking. yuyu's been trying to help him for a couple of minutes, doing everything you've taught us, but it's not working."

yunho was close to tears as he sat beside wooyoung, trying to talk him down from the panic attack. he sighed in relief when he saw yeosang and san, scooting back so the two could sit on either side of wooyoung.

"baby? can you hear me?" yeosang asked softly.

"s-sangie?"

"yeah, it's me, youngie... it's sangie, i'm here. sannie is too, baby."

"s-sannie?"

"hi, love~ it's me, sannie's here."

"can we touch you, youngie? give you a hug?"

"n-no... u-unsafe," wooyoung whimpered, starting to pull at his hair again.

"oh, honey... how about holding hands? how's that sound?" yeosang asked softly.

wooyoung nodded, muttering a quiet "okay", before san and yeosang each took one of the boy's hands.

"we're here, woo~" san whispered. "just us."

"h-he was here... h-he hurt me..." wooyoung cried.

"no, no... baby, it wasn't real. he wasn't here. you had a nightmare, my love," san explained quietly.

"h-hurts bad... f-feels real."

"how did he hurt you, youngie?"

"k-kicked... a-and punched. c-choked me... i-i couldn't breathe."
