wooyoung and san had just finished a movie a few hours later when they heard the knock at the door. without hesitation, wooyoung got up and went over to it, peeking out before opening the door to a disheveled yeosang.
"sangie..."
"i-i'm sorry..." the boy muttered, shaking as he sobbed.
"shh... it's okay, i know how you are. it's jongho who deserves the apology, he's really worried. how are you feeling, baby?"
"awful... s-so awful..."
"oh, honey... here, let's get your shoes off and we can go sit on the couch..."
"i-i don't think i can..."
"why not, sangie? do you feel sick? tired?"
"i-i feel so sick... i-it all hurts, i-i'm dizzy..." yeosang whimpered.
"get your shoes off, we'll head into the bathroom then."
yeosang nodded slightly, kicking off his shoes and following wooyoung as he led him into the bathroom.
"let's sit down here, yeah? that way you're close to the toilet if you need it," wooyoung explained, helping yeosang sit down.
wooyoung sat behind him, holding the boy close.
"did you drive yourself here, sangie?"
"i-i never left... i got downstairs and threw up in the bush... i got to my car a-and couldn't stop crying, m-my head hurt so bad a-and it was making me dizzy... i-i think i might have passed out too, i don't know..."
"oh, baby... this is what i was worried about, y'know? that's why i was trying to fight you on leaving."
"i-i know... i-i just... i thought i'd be fine."
"just rest for now, we can talk about this later..." wooyoung encouraged, rubbing the boy's back as yeosang leaned against him.
jongho heard the commotion from his room and emerged into the living room, eyes wide.
"his shoes... is sangie here?"
"he's with wooyoungie in the bathroom... he doesn't feel good right now."
"oh god... i-i knew i should've fought harder, this is all my—"
"jongho, stop. it's not your fault. woo told me that he's always been this stubborn when he needs help and he needed to figure it out for himself. he's okay, he's safe. that's what matters right now. i'll text woo and see how sangie's doing, come sit."
jongho obliged, albeit a bit reluctantly and san quickly texted wooyoung. meanwhile in the bathroom, wooyoung was trying to help yeosang figure out what might be helpful for the boy.
"baby... can we get you some ice and onto the couch? will that help? we can make sure you have a bucket nearby in case you can't make it back here. i just want you to be able to rest," wooyoung whispered, playing with yeosang's hair.
"i-i... okay?"
"do you want to talk about things before we go out there? you seem hesitant..."
"i-i just... i don't know. it's weird. i-i'm not used to having a boyfriend who cares so fully about my wellbeing. and i-it's hard to accept help already, b-but you know... i don't like feeling like a burden."
"sangie... you're never going to be a burden to us. i doubt that jongho feels that you're one either. he was pretty eager to help you."
"i-i know... i just... i'm sorry, youngie... i really thought i would be okay."
"oh, sangie... it's okay. i'm just glad you came back here. let's go see sannie and jjong now, okay?"
yeosang nodded only slightly, then allowing wooyoung to help him up slowly. the boys walked side by side down the hall and into the living room, where jongho was quick to get to his feet.
"yeo..."
"jjong... i-i'm s-so sorry... i-i just... i-i wanted to handle it on my own... i-i thought i was o-okay..."
"baby... hey, it's okay. we're okay, i was just worried about you. take a deep breath with me, yeo~" jongho encouraged gently, taking the boy's hands.
yeosang obliged and wooyoung took san's hand, pulling him into the kitchen to get ice and water for yeosang.
"i just wanted to give them a little privacy... yeosang doesn't love being vulnerable around people, especially if it's more than one person in the room. plus, he needs to have some water and probably ice his head a bit when they're all done their conversation."
"so it's the concussion?"
"yeah... i knew it was. he's stubborn... and he probably felt like he shouldn't show any of his pain since it hurt me that my ex was the cause. he's going to be okay now... he just needed to get out of his head."
san nodded, humming a bit, watching as wooyoung moved around the kitchen.
"y'know... i already knew you could get pretty protective, but your reaction to this whole thing showed me a different side of you. and if i'm not mistaken, i think it's a side of you that was there before everything with your ex happened," san explained.
wooyoung froze for a moment and smiled a bit, recognizing exactly what san had meant. then, he nodded just slightly and looked up at the older.
"yeah... it feels good. i'm glad that i'm present enough now and can take care of my best friend, just like i used to."
san smiled and pressed a kiss to the boy's forehead, then the two made their way back into the living room, where yeosang was crying softly in jongho's arms on the couch, guilt still eating away at him after their argument.
"sangie... here, baby... i got you some ice and a water," wooyoung said softly, sitting next to the boy.
"t-thank you, y-youngie..."
the boy took the ice from the younger first, finding a good spot to hold it on. jongho held it in place after, allowing yeosang to take his water and sip from it.
"sannie and i are going to go to his room now... let us know if you guys need anything?"
both jongho and yeosang nodded at this, then san and wooyoung made their way to the boy's bedroom. they laid together in a relaxing silence, only broken when san decided it was a good moment.
"i'm proud of you, woo."
"huh?"
"i'm really, really proud of you. you've worked so hard to get to where you are now and i'm so proud."
"sannie..." wooyoung pouted. "i couldn't have gotten where i am without you, you know."
"maybe, but still... you deserve to hear how proud of you i am."
wooyoung nodded and hugged onto the boy tight.
"i love you."
"and i love you."
