when seonghwa arrived home with hongjoong by his side, wooyoung was still sleeping in san's arms. yeosang and jongho had been on the couch, the older of the two jumping up in excitement to greet the two.

after greeting the two in the living room, the boys made their way to wooyoung's room and smiled small as they quietly walked in, waving to san.

"hwa... joongie... it's so good to see both of you," san whispered.

wooyoung was curled up almost completely on top of san at this point, holding onto a handful of the boy's shirt.

"it's good to see you too, san~" hongjoong greeted.

"i was going to say we could take over and cuddle with him, but it looks like that won't be possible," seonghwa laughed. "how's he been doing since we talked?"

"he's been alright. he was awake for a little bit about an hour ago, he wanted to talk about things and told me about how he feels like he's being silly for reacting this way. i told him he's not, that we all handle things our own way, but he's pretty convinced that he's overreacting."

"it's not overreacting though... he's been through so much, he's just holding on to what's comfortable for him. it's really tough to have so many things changing all at once too. even for me it's a lot, just knowing that i'm an adult and have more responsibilities now."

san nodded, kissing wooyoung's forehead again.

"i think he's starting to grasp the whole work schedule thing a lot better than he's giving himself credit for... i think he's more stressed about school."

"huh? what about school? he's usually pretty quick to adjust, even if the changes are stressful in the beginning."

"well... how much has he told you?" san asked.

"not much... just that he finally has a class with you and he has a class alone, which he always finds really awkward."

"the professors he has this semester are a little bit tougher than he's used to, for starters... especially the class we have together, and, um... he'll probably kill me for this, but he found out he has to take an extra class if he wants to graduate on time."

"what? that's impossible... he's taken all of the same classes as sangie and i since those two started at this school."

"well... there's something he hasn't told you then. all i know is that he's short on credits, i don't know any other details."

seonghwa sighed, gently brushing through wooyoung's hair and staring at the sleeping boy.

"oh wooyoungie..."

"should we let you guys rest for a bit longer?" hongjoong asked.

"yeah... i want to let woo get a few more minutes at the very least. we'll meet you in the living room soon?"

"sounds perfect," seonghwa agreed. "take your time, let woo rest for as long as he needs. we're not going anywhere."

"i have tomorrow off from work too, so i'll be here overnight," hongjoong shared.

"you took tomorrow off?" seonghwa asked.

"not exactly, although it worked out perfectly because i wanted to take a day soon. we just have a break between projects that we're working on."

seonghwa nodded, then the two boys left the room, leaving wooyoung and san curled together in the younger's bedroom.

it was fifteen minutes later that wooyoung woke up, sighing a bit when he still felt that heavy feeling in his chest.
