tw / very brief mentions of disordered eating @ the beginning
hongjoong and seonghwa's graduation was fast approaching, which also meant that for all of the others, finals were just around the corner. of course, all of the boys were stressed, but in an attempt to stay on track, wooyoung was trying hard to vocalize his needs even during this stressful time. san was glad that the boy finally felt comfortable enough to do this, especially considering how the couple of other finals periods that they had gone through together had been.
this was a particularly stressful day for both san and wooyoung, which their friends had quickly recognized. as finals had started just a couple of days ago, things were officially in full swing. yeosang and jongho had a brief conversation about it that morning, fearing how the two would hold up through the entire day.
san was far more anxious than normal, his vocal performance final stressing him out the entire week, especially when he remembered he also had a dance final later on the same day. he couldn't control his thoughts like he normally could, and with wooyoung being less available because of his own dance finals, the boy was struggling.
for wooyoung, he found himself struggling in a similar way, yet also very differently. he too couldn't control his thoughts, but unlike san, his worries manifested in self hatred and struggles with his eating habits. yeosang did his best to help, but wooyoung was adamant that everything was fine.
it was after wooyoung's second dance final, which was for his contemporary class, that he met up with san for the two to grab some coffee and finally relax. however, san's anxiety hadn't been kind to him all day, and the boy was not having it.
"sannie... hi," wooyoung said softly, hugging the older warmly.
"hi," san whispered, hugging back lazily.
oh, how san hated how he sounded talking to wooyoung like that. but at this point, he had lost control. he didn't know what to do anymore.
wooyoung noticed the boy was a little off, so he just stayed between san's arms as they continued to talk, hoping he could help a bit.
"ready to go grab some coffee? finals were tough today, we deserve it."
"yeah... sure," san muttered, trying to focus on how it felt to have wooyoung close.
the younger leaned up and pressed a kiss to san's cheek, then he went around the boy's car and got in. san took a deep breath, then got in himself, only hoping he would be able to hold it together a bit longer.
the ride was quiet, the only sounds being an occasional comment from wooyoung and the sound of the radio playing. once they arrived, wooyoung realized something was really wrong, staying in his seat as san got ready to get out.
"sannie... let's stay in here for a bit."
"what...? but you said-"
"we can wait... i just think we need to talk."
"about?" san asked, his heart beating out of his chest in fear.
"what's going on? you're not you, sannie... is your anxiety acting up? did something happen today during finals? talk to me..."
"i'm okay, woo... really."
"no..." wooyoung shook his head, cupping the boy's cheek and running his thumb across it. "sannie... please don't try to lie to me."
"w-why?" san asked nervously. "h-how do you know?"
"i know you... my sannie never hesitates to give me the biggest, warmest hug when i get out of class like you did today, or gives such short answers. something's going on, i'm sure of it."
