wooyoung cried a lot during therapy that week. he cried so hard that his therapist was worried that he would make himself sick, despite knowing how important it was for the boy to work through these emotions.

he cried again when he got in san's car, the boy pulling him close and trying to figure out if there was anything he could do to make it all better. but all wooyoung wanted was to be held, he didn't want to talk about it right then and there.

"oh, my angel... it's okay... i'm here, you're safe."

wooyoung only tightened his grip on san, nuzzling into him and continuing to cry.

half an hour later, san was driving them to his own apartment, wooyoung muttering something about feeling embarrassed and not wanting to face yeosang and seonghwa just yet.

as soon as they got inside, wooyoung made his way to san's room and curled up under the covers, san trailing behind him after grabbing a water bottle for the boy.

"my love... are you feeling okay? you've cried a lot, i just want to make sure you're not making yourself sick..."

"mmm... i-i just... f-feeling a lot of things r-right now..."

"i know, woo... but you're physically feeling okay, yeah?"

wooyoung nodded only slightly, then making grabby hands in san's direction. the boy chuckled softly and obliged, laying close to the younger and holding him close.

"i love you so much, my angel," san whispered.

"i love you more... um, i told my therapist about how he's locked up now. told her about everything that happened the past couple of weeks a-and how it all felt for me. i-it was kind of overwhelming..."

"i can imagine... you're feeling a bit lighter now though, aren't you?"

wooyoung nodded at this, hugging onto san a bit tighter.

"definitely... a-and she said that's really good for me that he's locked up now, that the reminder of that will help with my panic attacks and stuff..."

"mm... i figured it might. a reminder that he can't actually hurt you even if your brain is making you feel like you're getting hurt."

"a-and it may not always work... y'know, when i'm having really bad days... but it's a start. she said if i'm up for it next week we could also start with some exposure therapy too... going places i went with minhyung and all that."

"that's great, baby... really great. you're one step closer to feeling free, my love."

wooyoung smiled a bit and nodded, humming slightly.

things were quiet for a while after this, wooyoung resting and taking in how it felt to be loved unconditionally. he no longer felt undeserving of the love san gave him, even if he still had days where it was overwhelming for him to accept that love. he was comfortable now, he knew that love could be kind.

at the same time, san sat holding wooyoung close, finding himself more than grateful for moments like these. he had found his purpose, his muse. wooyoung was truly a dream come true, and san knew that he would cherish him forever.

their quiet time was cut short when they heard voices in the living room, what sounded like an argument between yeosang and jongho. wooyoung tensed a bit at the noise, but listened carefully, worried for his best friend.

"baby..." san whispered. "you're safe."

"but sangie..." wooyoung muttered.

san sighed and nodded, understanding the headspace wooyoung was now in.
