Hi Shua17hong! Here is your request, I hope you'll like it! ✨
The bright fluorescent lights buzzed above the polished floor, and the sound of sneakers tapping echoed throughout the empty room. The members of Seventeen, all of them gathered in their practice clothes, stood scattered across the spacious dance studio, stretching and chatting quietly. It wasn't long before the door opened, and a man in his early thirties walked in, holding a clipboard and wearing a pair of well-worn sneakers.
"Hey, everyone! Sorry to interrupt," the man said, a bit out of breath. "I'm Jake. I'll be stepping in for your usual choreographer today."
The members of Seventeen looked up from their stretches, surprised. They were used to their familiar choreographer, who had always been a calm and steady presence. The sudden shift had caught them off guard.
"Wait, what happened to Mr. Lee?" Hoshi asked, furrowing his brow. He was the one who usually handled the choreography and music arrangement.
"Emergency," Jake explained with a quick shrug. "He's fine, just had something urgent to handle. But no worries, I'm here to keep the routine moving. I've worked with a few groups before, so I think we'll get along just fine. You can call me Jake." He flashed a smile, trying to ease the tension in the room.
"Nice to meet you," Seungcheol said politely, stepping forward, his voice soothing. "We're Seventeen."
"I know who you are," Jake said with a grin. "I've watched your performances. You guys are incredible."
"Thanks!" DK beamed, his face lighting up at the compliment.
"So, what's the plan for today?" asked Hoshi, clapping his hands together eagerly. As the leader of the performance unit, he was always ready to dive into practice, but today, he was curious about how things would go with a new face.
"Well," Jake began, "I've been watching your latest performances and listening to the track you're working on. I'm thinking we should focus on cleaning up some transitions and tightening up the formation changes. It'll help make the whole thing flow more smoothly."
"Sounds good," Mingyu said, nodding in agreement. "We've been trying to smooth out some parts, so this will be useful."
"Great," Jake said, scanning the group. "Alright, let's start with the first verse. I'll walk you through some of the changes I'm thinking of, and then we'll just clean up the movements. Who's in charge of the formations?"
"That's usually Hoshi hyung," Seungkwan answered, pointing at Hoshi, who gave a small wave in acknowledgement.
"Okay, Hoshi, let's work together on making sure everything lines up. Everyone else, you're on standby to help adjust anything that doesn't fit. If I give any specific notes, let's take them seriously, alright?"
"Got it," said Jeonghan, stepping into position as the others followed suit.
The music began to play, the familiar beat filling the air. Jake stood near the sound system, nodding along with the rhythm.
"Alright, from the top," Jake said, gesturing for them to start. "Five, six, seven, eight!"
They jumped into action, their bodies moving in sync, each of them effortlessly slipping into the choreography. But Jake's eyes were sharp, watching every movement with a critical gaze. As the first verse played out, he raised his hand.
"Hold! Hold!" he called out, and the music came to an immediate stop. The group froze in place.
"Okay, good energy, but the transition after the second step feels a little off," Jake said, walking toward the center of the room. "Hoshi, can we try a slight shift in the arm positioning here?"
