After their victorious win against the prime minister, Rocky and Reena left back to Bangalore where Reena was hit with the reality of things.
She had gotten a call from her friends as soon as she got to KGF, asking her to come to their office.
Reena, usually confident, faded in the back of her seat as she rode in silence to her office. By the tone of her friends voices, it couldn't be good new.
How could it be after the weight of the secret that had been revealed. Reena never wanted it to end like this but she had no choice.
The familiar CBI branch building came into view and Reena swallowed a pang in her throat as she stepped out, her hand clutching her CBI badge.
The atmosphere was tense. Whispers rippled through the air as Reena stepped into the office. Heads turned, and conversations dropped to hushed murmurs. Her heels clicked against the cold, tiled floor, but her usual confidence was missing.
All heads turned to face her, some in anger, other in disgust and some in awe. It was no lie that Reena was brave for the things she did. Going against the CBI was no joke.
Raghavan stood at the foot of the office, his body facing the large black board where all their evidence was meticulously pin pointed. However now at the centre of it all was a picture of Reena.
The office was reduced to pin drop silence. The tension practically vibrating in the air. "I cant believe out of everyone, you would betray me, us like this" Raghavan started, his voice shaking, with anger or sadness was unknown.
Reena gulped, forcing her hands to stay still by her side. "Sir i-" she was silenced as Raghavan held up a hand. he slowly turned around, his eyes hollow.
"I thought of you as my daughter. I praised you in front of everyone. Crediting your achievement as our best yet, you threw it all away for him" he pressed, his voice raising slightly.
Reena looked down, unable to bear everyone's judgemental gaze. "It isn't like that. I never meant for this to happen. I- i was after Rocky all these months but something changed"
"Nothing changed Reena, you did. You fell for his games"
"I fell for him"
Reena declared, finally looking up. Vaishnavi and Parvati stood in the corner, smiling lightly to themselves at her confession.
She let out a tangled breath. "I love him and i couldn't stand to jeopardise him any longer" she argued and Raghavan scoffed.
"How could you say that after all you know about him. HES A CRIMINAL"
"HES MY HUSBAND"
Reena shouted, slamming her fist against the table. Her eyes began bleeding red with anger. She didn't like when anyone talked bad about her Rocky.
"Ill give you a choice Reena. You can keep your job if you agree to give us intel on Rocky" Raghavan sir tried to compromise. The words hung heavy in the air.
For a moment, Reena said nothing. Then—
A sharp, bitter laugh escaped her lips. It cut through the tension like a blade.
"You think I'd sell him out? After everything?" She stands, shaking her head in disbelief. "I thought you knew me better than that, sir."
Raghavan curled his hands beside him, his frustration quickly growing, threatening to explode. However Reena didn't budge.
The whole office watched as she walked past Raghavan sir and to the black board. She grabbed a marker, circling her face and turned to him.
"If you think I'd betray him the way you think I betrayed you—you never really knew me at all. Make me another target if you want but I'm never going against him again" she said her voice ice cold.
