Chapter 14

Destiny P.O.V

A couple more weeks passed, and it was the last day that the colleges call to either accept or deny you. I was still relying on Harvard to accept me. I didn't care anymore, it was still going to be awkward with Joshua either way.

I went on my phone and seen my old friend Chris texted me. I had a crush on Chris, and he was my best friend. We used to be very close. He used to flirt with me, and ever since Joshua and I were official, I stopped texting Chris, so I wouldn't get my feelings mixed.

Umessage: 

Chris: Hey beautiful :)

Me: Hey :(

Chris: Whats wrong? Is my bestie upset? :/

Me: Yeah, I am.. My boyfriend and I are, well I guess you can say, its complicated. He is going to Harvard, but I applied to Harvard and Yale, hoping I would get into Yale. I haven't heard anything back from Harvard. So Im going threw a lot right now, between my college, and my "boyfriend"

Chris: Awww! You poor thing, you shouldn't be upset! Ill be here for you when you need a shoulder to cry on, and Joshua is a jerk for not applying to the same college as you, no matter what he wants, even if the college was the "best" for him, you should be the best for him. You should come first, no matter what happens.

Me: Thank you Chris! Brb, my college is calling.

Chris: Okay, bye lovely love

I picked up the phone. "Hello?" I said "Hello, is this Destiny Rose?" Harvard asked. "Yes, Yes it is". I said nervously. "Well, I would like to inform you that you have gotten into the Harvard University." The women said. "Wow, I am so honored and grateful for your decision." I said almost crying. "We look forward to seeing you in September." She said and hung up. This was amazing! I was going to Harvard! And in this case, if I didn't get into Harvard, I would be joining a college I didn't like. My first instinct was to invite Josh over so we can celebrate. And then, I remembered. I grabbed my phone and texted Chris.

Umessage:

Me: Omg! Chris! I GOT INTO HARVARD!

Chris: Wow! Thats amazing! Now you can be with Joshua!

Me: No, I can't. Its never going to be the same. Ever, I was the one to breakup with him, and its the most horrible feeling I ever felt, except the way I feel right now. 

Chris: You'll find someone better, just like you deserve better ;*

Me: Thanks,  you've always been there for me. I am really grateful to have you as a friend.

Chris: Anytime boo, you deserve a whole lot more then you currently get.

Me: :)

Chris: Do you want to celebrate at a party? I can throw one for you, everyone will come. I mean, you're very popular, and everyone wants to either date you, or be your best friend.

Me: That sounds great, I just don't know if Ill be able to, last time I went to a party, I was almost killed. Its a long story, and it hurts to talk about it anyway, tbh.

Chris: Well, if you want, I will personally drive you here and back, whenever you want to leave, you can leave. No questions asked. ;) <3

Me: Okay.. I'll give it a shot.. btw, will there be shots?

 Chris: Yeah, but no drugs. I only drink, and thats the way I wanna stay.

Me: Okay, lmao. I'll be ready.

Chris: You better :) lmao. 

I put down my phone, and took a shower. After the shower, I went to go dry off and put on a amazing dress. I tried to block out everything while I got ready. I put on a mint green dress, that had gems and diamonds on the waist, that went up until it reached the chest, it was a  sweetheart neckline. I wore flats that came with the dress, and were also mint green, with diamonds. I put on my necklace, ring, and earrings. I straightened my hair and did my makeup. I did a cat eye, and always put eyeliner on my waterline. I also put on some lipgloss. I waited until I got the text from Chris.
