Shore

Robin's POV

"Love, do you know why I love the sea so much?" my mother was gently stroking my hair while we were sitting in the sand.

"Why?"

"Because the waves always come back to the shore," she answered. "They were always made for each other because no matter how huge the sea is, it would always take its rest to the shore."

"And then it leaves," I pointed out.

My mother smiled. "But it comes back eventually, right?"

"That makes sense," I nodded.

My father was silent beside us when Mom and I were talking but then he suddenly looked at me and smiled. "Robin," tawag niya.

"Hmm?"

"Do you hear that?"

"Hear what?"

"The sound of the ocean waves," my father said.

I diverted my gaze to the ocean and carefully listened to its peaceful sound and then smiled when I noticed how beautiful the melodies it created when the waves crashed to the shore.

"It's beautiful, dad," I answered without looking at him.

"What do you think lies beneath, Robin?"

"I don't know, how would I know?"

They laughed together because of my answer. "The waters has so many wonders, Robin."

I sighed while I was looking at the waves. My fingers were still in the harp but I have already stopped playing it.

I was at the exact same spot the last time I was with both my parents, it was the most beautiful memory I have left with the both of them.

When my father died, my mother and I stopped going there. I'm just so thankful that my memories are strong enough to be able for me to relieve that beautiful memory I have with them.

The reason why I love this place so much is because of them.

Because after that day, my father was found dead. I'm lucky to have spent that morning in the shore with them.

Long handwritten note

Deep in your pocket

Words, how little they mean

I started to sing a song while playing with my harp.

When you're a little too late

I stood right by the tracks

Your face in a locket

Good girls, hopeful they'll be and long they will wait

I took a deep breath before singing the next line. "We had a beautiful magic love there
What a sad, beautiful , tragic love affair..."

"Kambal! Nandito ka lang pala!"

Napaigtad ako nang marinig ko ang boses ni Magnus sa likod ko. Naglalakad siya sa buhangin na tila ba hirap hirap na siya sa ginagawa niya.

"Buti nalang talaga naisipan kong puntahan ka dito, kanina ka pa hinahanap ni Ate," he continued speaking.

He watched as my harp disappeared and then I stood up. Water gathered at the bottom of my  feet, creating my portal.

I thought that Magnus would use his own but he jumped to my portal and smiled at me.
"Syempre sasama ako sayo."

"Suit yourself, Draver," sagot ko.

"Okay, Rhiannon!" pabirong sambit niya.

I remained silent until my vision started to reveal the throne room where my sister was sitting. "Robin," malamig ang boses niya.
"Iniiwasan mo ba ako?"

Napanganga ako sa naging tanong niya. "I'm not avoiding you, Empress," it was respectful to not call her by her name, especially in the throne room.

"Ganoon ba?" aniya. "Bakit hindi ka nagpapakita sa akin, batid ko naman na malaki ang palasyo ngunit hindi kita mahagilap ngayong mga araw."

"Patay ka kambal, may kasalanan ka siguro?"

"I'm usually out training," pangangatwiran ko. "I'm sorry, did you ask for my presence and I wasn't around when you needed me?"

"Hindi naman, I'm just looking for you. I was worried."

I felt something brushing my heart because of her. "I'm sorry, Empress."

"Are you okay, Robin?"

The Empress's brow raised. "How unusual that you want your brother around," tumawa siya.

"Just because."

"Alis na nga lang ako!" I couldn't stop my twin when he stormed out of the throne room.

"Are you okay, my love?" tanong ulit sa akin ng kapatid ko. "I noticed how you were so quiet these days."

"I'm always quiet."

"No," buntong hininga niya. "It feels strange," aniya habang nakatingin na sa labas ng bintana. "Whatever it is, Robin, you can tell me. Kung may bumabagabag sayo, sabihin mo lang agad sa akin."

"I'm okay," I assured her. "Promise."

She took me to her embrace, I even felt her tightening the hug. Instead of protesting, I just let her.

"I'm always here for you, okay?"

Bumuntong hininga ako. "I know. I know, Ate."

Binitawan niya ako ngunit nagsalita ulit siya. "I know how you always want to keep everything to yourself and I understand that, but if you ever feel tired, I'm here, Robin."

I nodded, getting tired of speaking now.
"You can leave," she patted my head as if I was still a little kid.

I left the room with a heavy heart. Mabuti nalang at nakasalubong ko si Amara.
"Princess!"

Agad ko siyang sinalubong. "Why are you wandering around the palace alone, babe?"

"Mommy went s-somewhere, Dad is talking to King," she said slowly, humahangos pa.

"Hmm, is that so? I guess you're stuck with me now," I carried her and kissed her cheeks.
"Where do you want to go, babe?"

"Outside," she cheered. "River!"

I shook my head because of how cute she is. I brought her once to the river just outside our city and she loved it there.

"Wow..." she uttered while looking at the water surrounding us because of my portal.

I put her down and sat on a huge stone when we arrived at the river. "Don't go near the water," I reminded her.

She nodded cheerfully and just picked some flowers nearby. "For Mommy..." I heard her talking to herself. "And for princess."

I smiled when she came running to me. "Tata! Look!"

I burst into laughter when the flowers she pick disappeared. "Huh?" The poor child was confused.

It was a dandelion. "Oh... Amara," I laughed. "Come here."

She was so close to crying, confused where the flower went. "You got dandelions for me, and when you ran, it got blown by the wind."

I could tell that she didn't understand so I just planted a kiss on her head. "It's okay, Tita saw you picking the flower, it's enough, Amara."

She nodded and ran again to look at the flowers. I only took my eyes off her for a few seconds and when I looked at her, she wasn't there anymore.

"Amara?"
