Chapter 19: Mon Amour

Mon Amour

Robin's POV

I adjusted my cloak and watched the frozen river in our palace. It still looked beautiful despite it being frozen.

Winter has always been the happiest time in our city. They're all outside having fun including my siblings, the Empress also decided to join them and I am here alone.

I don't know if they realize that I have been isolating myself from them. I just can't look them in the eye now.

I'm sure that Alistair is looking for me because days have passed and I still didn't come back to see him. I want to be sure that I don't get caught.

"Pwede ba kitang samahan?" Alora Augustine appeared from my back bringing with her the most beautiful smile one could see.

I let her sit beside me, she was smiling nonstop. "Bakit ka mag isa? Ayaw mong lumabas?"

I stayed silent. "Ang tahimik mo talaga hahaha," she giggled to herself. "Alam kong may problema ka," she said. "Ganyan din ako noon, pinipili ko nalang mag isa kesa makihalubilo sa ibang tao."

"Ang kaibahan natin, yung mga taong kasama ko walang paki alam," she smiled. "They didn't notice that I was sad and they kept me in the dark alone," kahit masakit ang mga sinasabi niya ay nakakaya niya pa rin na ngumiti.

"Your siblings are worried about you," bigla siyang humarap sa akin suot pa rin ang ngiti niya. "Ang sabi ni Tobi sanay na daw sila na palagi mong gustong mapag isa pero parang may iba daw sayo ngayon," she shrugged her shoulders.

"Ayoko namang tanungin kong ayos ka lang dahil ramdam ko naman na hindi," iling niya. "Alam mo Robin, isa sa natutunan ko sa lahat ng pinagdaanan ko ay kapag may mga nilalang na gustong tumulong sayo, tanggapin mo ang tulong nila. May mga laban din kasi na hindi mo talaga kayang mag isa."

Her and her wisdom. No wonder my brother fell for her. They both match each other.

"You're wrong," I told her. "Staying silent is my only resort," I sighed. "If I speak even the slightest bit of information I would cause a ruckus."

Alora smiled again. "Edi kung dumating na yang sinasabi mong problema, harapin natin."

If only it's that easy. "Nah," tanggi ko. "But thanks for talking to me."

"May gusto kang puntahan?" she gazed at my cloak.

I want to see him.

"Kung gusto mo, ako nalang magsasabi sa Empress na umalis ka," she volunteered.

"Really?" I looked at her. "Could you tell her that I'll be back later at night? Just tell her that I'm going to the ocean."

Alora nodded. "Okay, sabihin ko nalang sa kanya."

Thanks to her I was able to go and visit Alistair. When I arrived at his chambers there was no one. I waited for him because I couldn't risk going out.

"Just tell her that I can't be with her," I heard his voice outside.

I was still wearing my cloak, I pretended not to be excited and stopped myself from smiling. I would look dumb.

"Galit na nga yun boss, anong gagawin ko?" Amon asked.

"I don't fucking care, Amon," there he goes again.

He sounded so dangerous and mighty. Ang lamig at ang lalim ng boses niya ngunit kapag ako ang kanyang kausap hindi naman ganun.

The door opened revealing the vampire king I missed the most. His mouth opened a little bit when he saw me and I saw how lips curved into a smile.

"My venom," hindi ko mawari kung bakit ang laki ng kanyang ngisi.

Malalaki ang hakbang na ginawa niya papunta sa akin at noong abot na niya ako ay agad niya akong niyakap ng mahigpit.

That's when I noticed how cold his body was and how deep his breathing is. "Are you okay?" I asked while I was still in his arms.

"I missed you... so fucking bad," bulong niya. I also noticed how hoarse his deep voice is.

"What happened to you?"

"Boss! May dala akong dugo dito, hindi naman pwedeng hindi ka um—" Amon shut his mouth when he saw his king hugging me. "Ayan na pala yung dugo," lumabas na rin siya ulit.

"You haven't been drinking blood?" nag aalala kong tanong.

I felt him shaking his head. "I can't drink anyone's blood. I want yours."

I sighed and pushed him a little. "What would you do if I can't come here? I have been gone for days and you're already starving yourself," pangangaral ko. "You can't keep doing that."

Tinulak ko siya papunta sa kama at pinahiga. I then offered him my wrist. "Go on," galit kong sabi.

"Hey..." hinawakan niya ang aking braso at binaba ito. "Don't be mad."

"Nakakainis ka kasi," I said. "What if I don't come here anymore? You'll starve yourself?"

He sighed and leaned on the headboard. "Sidra
came here," aniya.

"And?"

"She offered me her blood."

"What did you do?"

"Of course I refused," he answered.

Alistair unbuttoned his white shirt and threw it to the side, he then leaned back again and smiled at me looking so innocent.

"Kapag ako ang nangailangan ng dugo ng babaeng yan sisiguraduhin kong wala akong ititira sa kanya kahit isang patak man lang," I said with no emotion.

Napakunot ang noo ko nang bigla tumawa si Alistair. He even tried to cover his mouth with his fist to suppress his laugh but to no avail.

"Are you jealous?" tumatawa niya pa ring tanong.

"Vampire, if I have sex with a man before and he keeps on bothering me now, would you stay silent?" seryoso kong tanong.

Unti-unting nawala ang kanyang ngiti at napalitan ito ng madilim na mga mata niya. "I would rip off that man's head and make sure that tomorrow doesn't come for him."

"See?"

He sighed. "Come here, Princess," he offered me his hand.

Rolling my eyes, I accepted it and lay down in his side. I used his arms as a pillow and Alistair played with my hair.

"How was your home?"

"I wouldn't be here for long, I need to go back to Auroravale later," baliwala ko sa tanong niya.

He stopped playing with my hair for a while and just accepted that he can't be with me for long. "I missed you," he whispered. "I learned this new word from Amon."

"What word?"

He tilted his head and then hold my chin to make me look at him. "Mon amour," the way he said those words made my heart flutter, I don't even know what it meant. "My love," he whispered.

I looked away because my cheeks were burning. "Uhm..."

"Robin," he called my name.

Hindi ko alam kung tinutukso niya ba ako ngunit labis na ang pag init ng aking mga pisngi. Nahihiya akong tumingin sa kanya ngunit wala akong magawa dahil hinawakan niyang muli ang aking mukha at hinarap ako sa kanya.

"If I have a soul, I know it's burning for you."

My eyes swelled with tears after hearing the most beautiful word someone could say to me.

"Y-you're really stupid,"I bit my lip trying to stop myself from crying.

I closed my eyes when Alistair leaned to me to kiss my forehead.

"Really really stupid," pilit kong pinapatatag ang aking sarili.

I faced his chest and buried my face in it, Alistair had no choice but to hug me back while patting my back. I didn't cry, all I felt was peace.

Like the ocean waves when it finally calm down.
