Chapter 17: Together

Together

"Hmm... should we ride your horse?" nakikita ko ang pagtatago ni Alistair ng ngisi niya. I wanted to choke him.

Kahit wala siyang sinasabi ay ramdam ko na nais niya akong tuksohin dahil sa ginawa niya sa akin dito sa gubat.

"If you don't wipe that grin off your face I will fucking punch you," pananakot ko.

"Okay," he said but he was still grinning.

"Naiinis na ako sayo, Alistair," sabi ko sa kanya.

"Alright, I'll stop now," ngunit nakangiti pa rin siya.

Sa tingin ko ay nasisiraan na ng bait ang hari ng mga bampira. He held my waist and made me sit on my horse, kasunod ay sumakay rin siya at humawak sa bewang ko.

"I'm using my portal," anunsyo ko sa kanya.

I have a feeling that he will just flirt with me all ride to his palace.

"Okay," he hugged me from behind and buried his face in my nape. "You have to apologize to Amon, he nearly drowned."

"Ganoon ba?" walang pakialam kong sagot.

"I almost drowned too," ngumiwi ako nang marinig ko ang paglalambing sa boses niya.

"How about your woman? Did she almost drowned too?" I rolled my eyes. "Kung ganoon, sana nalunod kayong dalawa."

"Robin," he warned.

"Shut up, Alistair. I haven't forgotten about what I heard," seryoso kong sagot kaya tumahimik siya.

We appeared outside his dark and huge palace, sa tingin ko ay alam ni Amon na darating kami dahil wala kahit isang bampira ang nasa labas.

Bumaba ako sa aking kabayo ng walang pasabi kay Alistair kaya siya buntong hininga pag baba niya ng kabayo.

"Stay here, I will be back," I told my horse.

Pagpasok namin ay nadatnan namin si Amon sa loob na tila ba nasisiraan na ng bait dahil sa pabalik-balik niyang paglalakad.

"Boss!" tila nakahinga siya ng maluwag ng makita kaming dalawa. He suddenly pointed his fingers... down?

What is he trying to say?

"Bossing, pakipasok ang prinsesa sa silid mo, nandito pa si ano," he looked at me. "Basta! Ligtas si Robin ngayon kasi pinalibutan ko ng kapangyarihan ko ang palasyo pero kasi! Hindi naman bobo si Sidra, minsan lang."

"Make her leave, Amon," Alistair's deep voice didn't seem to care. He held my hand and made me come with him to his room. "We are going to talk, Princess."

"Hoy! Paano na yung isa?! Anong sasabihin ko?!"

"Tell her that her father is looking for her, make things up just make her leave," tugon niya.

"You're walking too fast, Alistair."

He looked at me. "Sorry, come here," hinawakan niya ang bewang ko at kasabay naming tinungo ang silid niya.

He locked the door and made me sit on the bed. "I'm going to tell you everything about Sidra and I," he started. "I need you to listen."

"Okay."

"I love you."

Ramdam ko ang pamumula ng pisngi ko dahil sa aking narinig. I feel like I'm running out of breath because of how fast my heart is beating.

"I'm telling you I love you because I don't want you to think that I can love someone as much as I love you."

I cleared my throat. "Just... talk already."

"Our fathers are friends, Sidra and I grew up together. I know that she likes me..." he
started. "Her father has been asking her to find her mate and because she's tired of her father's continuous blabbering, she asked me to pretend," tila nagdadalawang isip siyang ipagpatuloy ang sasabihin.

"I agreed," he bit his lip.

"Does your deal come with having sex?" I asked.

"Rhiannon," he sighed. "You're right," he said. "We had sex, I d-drank her blood too."

I closed my eyes when I started to picture them together in the same bed, sharing the same warmth.

And fuck, she's a vampire. A war wouldn't happen if they're mates. Alistair will be safe with her. The thoughts of that are trying to drown me.

Fuck. They would be a perfect pair. Walang digmaan, walang masasaktan.

"No," agad niyang saad nang mahulaan ang naiisip. "Stop thinking about that," agad siyang lumapit sa akin. "I would never love her Rhiannon, I did that because her blood was the only thing keeping me alive."

"Huh?"

"For some reason, my thirst for my mate was getting stronger. I drank every maiden's blood trying to stop the thirst and Sidra was there when I was weakened. But that doesn't justify me having sex with her, I'm sorry."

I stayed silent.

"Robin, I know what you're thinking," he sighed and sat next to me. "Please... do not ever think of leaving me."

"I stopped being with her when I met you. The thoughts of him drinking other women's blood disgust me. I found you, that's all that matters to me now."

"And what would happen if they found out about us?"

"I will face them. Your family, your people."

"You don't understand..." nagbuntong hininga ako. "It's not just about that... vampires have been our enemies for years. I am a princess of honor, Alistair, my empress... my sister," I took a deep breath. "At this point, I'm not worried about the war anymore. I don't fucking care about it, all I care about is her reaction. I would hurt her, my brothers too."

That felt like the longest shit I've said. It immediately made me tired.

"And I'm worried about what would happen to you too," dagdag ko.

Alistair held my chin and rested his forehead in mine. "Let's not worry about that now," aniya. "I will protect you..."

"And I will protect you too," I closed my eyes.
"No more sex with another woman, Alistair," I said with my flat voice, trying to lighten the mood.

He chuckled sexily and kissed my lips. "I would never."

"Alistair, I need to leave. I have already delivered the gifts to Arsamanedon, my family is looking for me," sabi ko sa kanya.

He sighed. "Can you stay? Please... just tonight? I can take you to your city tomorrow."

I laughed. "You wish," I told him. "The city is protected by my sister's enchantment, enemies can't enter."

"I am not an enemy."

"You're a vampire, you can't enter there."

He sighed. "What would I do if I want to see
you?"

"Then you'll just have to wait for me to come here," inayos ko ang buhok niya. He smiled because of that small gesture and took my hands to his lips.

"I want to see you everyday."

"Greedy."

He chuckled sexily. Mahina niya akong tinulak pahiga sa kama at niyakap ang bewang ko tsaka siya nahiga sa aking dibdib.

Mabigat si Alistair ngunit hindi ko man lang magawang mag reklamo dahil gusto ko naman ang panlalambing niya sa akin.

I ran my hands through his hair and smiled to myself. "Alistair," tawag ko sa kanya.

"Hmm?"

"Let's face the uncertain together," ulit ko sa sinabi niya noon.

I felt Alistair smiling in my chest before he hugged me tighter.

"Together..."
