At the same time, Ella Duvall was stuck in traffic.

After dropping off Sara Hart, she headed home, only to find herself caught in a jam near JH Road. The area was bustling with entertainment venues and shopping malls, and combined with the weekend crowd, the line of cars stretched endlessly ahead.

She sighed silently, leaning back against the driver's seat as her gaze fell on the two-minute red light countdown. Just as she was about to relax, her phone rang.

"Hello, Mom..." Ella's tone was exasperated yet indulgent. "I'm on my way, but I'm stuck in traffic. I'll be home in thirty minutes at most, so stop nagging, okay?"

She paused, the scent of home-cooked food drifting through her imagination. "By the way, what's for dinner? I'm starving. I want spicy ginger rabbit..."

As the light turned green, traffic inched forward. Ella ended the call, muttering a quick goodbye.

Approaching an intersection, she prepared to turn right when an electric scooter suddenly darted out. Her instincts kicked in, and she yanked the steering wheel left, narrowly avoiding the scooter. But there was a loud bang as her car slammed into the rear bumper of the car ahead.

Her heart jumped into her throat. Tires screeched against the pavement, jolting her forward. The seatbelt pulled taut, holding her back.

For a moment, Ella was frozen, her mind spinning. Thankfully, no one was hurt. Exhaling deeply, she turned on her hazard lights, unbuckled her seatbelt, and stepped out of the car.

But as she approached the vehicle she'd hit, her heart sank. The luxurious Bentley logo on the bumper sent alarm bells ringing. This might cost me a month's earnings.

Swallowing hard, Ella mustered her courage and knocked on the car's tinted window. The glass lowered slowly, revealing a refined, handsome face.

"Dr. Lewis?" Ella blinked in surprise.

Sam Lewis's gaze met hers, calm and composed, with no hint of irritation. "Miss Duvall," he said evenly.

They had met once before, through Sara.

Recovering from her shock, Ella quickly apologized. "I'm so sorry for rear-ending you. Should we handle this privately, or..."

The driver had already assessed the damage and returned to report to Sam Lewis. Noticing the familiarity between them, the driver tactfully refrained from saying more.

"I'll handle it through insurance," Sam Lewis replied gently. "No need to worry."

Ella hadn't expected him to be so agreeable. Her interest in this elegant man was piqued again. Flashing a bright smile, she said, "Still, this was my fault. Why don't we exchange contact information? Just in case the repair costs exceed the insurance coverage."

She held out her phone with her WhatsApp QR code open, her expression sincere yet self-assured.

Sam Lewis hesitated briefly, then took out his phone to scan the code.

Ella quickly accepted his friend request, her smile radiant. "I'm Ella."

"I know," he replied, his tone calm. "Sara introduced us."

Reassured, Ella felt the situation was under control. "Again, I'm really sorry. If there's anything else, please let me know."

With a polite nod, Sam Lewis rolled up the window. The car pulled away, leaving Ella standing by the roadside, her phone glowing faintly.

Looking at her new WhatsApp contact, Ella's lips curled in satisfaction. Not a wrong turn of events after all.

Meanwhile, Sara and Adrian were having dinner at a private restaurant that Adrian seemed quite familiar with.

After ordering two dishes, Adrian handed Sara the menu. "What would you like?"

Sara shook her head. "I just ate. I'm not hungry—you don't have to order anything for me."

Adrian nodded, added another dish for himself, and returned the menu to the waiter.

While waiting for the food, Sara looked at the restaurant's surroundings. The ambiance was refined, with wooden furniture and staff dressed in traditional long robes and cheongsams.

Adrian noticed her curiosity and casually said, "I didn't see your message until right before I left work."

Sara had texted him earlier, not wanting to disturb him with a call. But since he'd been busy, her message had gone unnoticed.

Adrian glanced at his phone, then added nonchalantly, "We don't have each other on Instagram, do we?"

Sara blinked, then nodded. "No, we don't."

Adrian handed her his phone. "Add yourself."

Taking his phone, Sara opened her QR code and scanned it using his device. Once the connection was made, she returned the phone to him.

Adrian's Instagram profile was stark—no profile picture, posts, or activity. It was as if his account existed solely for functionality. Sara chuckled softly, finding his minimalism oddly fitting.

The food arrived shortly after. Adrian motioned for the server to bring a plate and utensils for Sara.

"I'm not hungry—"

Before she could finish, Adrian placed a piece of chicken on her plate. "Try it. If you like it, we can come here again."

Touched by his gesture, Sara smiled. "Alright."

The chicken was tender and flavorful, with a delicate aroma on her palate.

As Adrian ate, Sara watched him, enjoying their quiet yet intimate atmosphere.

Midway through the meal, a server knocked softly and entered with a dessert, placing it in front of Sara.

She blinked, surprised. "Is this... for me?"

Adrian continued eating, his expression unreadable. "Try it."

Sara scooped a small bite of the dessert, savoring its light, perfectly balanced sweetness. Her lips curved into a smile.

"It's delicious," she said, her voice warm.

Adrian's lips twitched upward, a barely perceptible smile tugging at the corners. "Good."
