Sara Hart continued watching her show for a while before curling up on the sofa and messaging Ella Duvall.

Sara: How did your "date" with Sam go?

A few minutes later, Ella replied.

Ella: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Sara: ???

Ella: Sara, I am now officially Sam's girlfriend—at least in name!

Sara read the message twice.

She understood each word individually, but together, they made no sense at all.

Before she could type another message, Ella called. Sara glanced at Adrian, then stepped aside to answer.

"Hello? Ella?"

Ella's excited voice came through immediately.

"Sara! I've taken the first step of my ten-thousand-mile conquest!"

"Huh? What do you mean?"

Ella quickly recounted the entire story.

Sara was shocked. "Are you planning to turn fake dating into real dating?"

On the other end, Ella sat by the café window, grinning as she stared at the seat Sam Lewis had just occupied.

"Of course!" she said confidently. "You know what kind of person Sam is—rigid, proper, and completely oblivious to romance. If I confessed outright, he'd definitely reject me! But if I take it step by step, slowly getting close to him, who knows? Maybe I'll actually succeed!"

Sara listened to her masterful strategy, nodding unconsciously. "That makes sense. Sam is the epitome of a gentleman. So, what's your next move?"

Ella took a sip of her drink, speaking slowly and deliberately.

"Grandfather Lewis invited me to have lunch at their house this weekend, and I said yes. First step—gain the elder's favor."

"Then, I'll gradually become a regular part of his life. Weekly meals, casual movies, weekend hikes... Let him get used to my presence first. Then we move to the next phase."

Sara was beyond impressed. "Ella, you're amazing!"

"Less flattery, more help," Ella said with a chuckle. "I need to buy a gift for Grandfather Lewis, but I have no idea what to get. Theoretically, I should be fine, but in practice, I'm a little nervous."

Sara seriously pondered. The two of them spent nearly an hour brainstorming.

Across the room, Adrian Blake would occasionally glance up from his work, watching as Sara enthusiastically discussed gift ideas.

She looked so invested, so focused, and her little expressions kept changing—her eyes sparkling with excitement.

If he didn't know better, he'd think she was discussing something life-changing.

They finally ended the call, and Adrian casually asked, "What were you two talking about for so long?"

Sara huffed. She shot him a glare, then looked away.

Adrian chuckled. She rarely acted like this. Was she still mad?

"Something about buying a gift for Grandfather Lewis?" Adrian prompted. "I actually know his preferences pretty well."

Sara paused.

Adrian continued, "Compared to you two, I probably understand the Lewis family a little better."
