"Glisten, dearest, have you seen my magnifying glass anywhere? I swore I left it in my room, but I may have left it on your desk."

Rodger opened the door to Glisten's room, spotting the golden toon on his bed. Rodger paused for a moment, was something different? Rodger looked to Glisten's face, noticing a simple pair of glasses on the toon's face. Glisten looked startled by Rodger's appearance, and he clapped the book in his hands shut before practically tearing the glasses off his face, shoving them into a drawer in his nightstand.

"No! I haven't seen it!" Glisten spoke hurriedly. Rodger blinking his singular eye, his quest to find his favorite research tool paused as he wandered over to Glisten. Glisten huffed, crossing his arms over his chest with a slight pout.

"Glisten, do you need glasses?" Rodger asked. A lot of things were clicking into place. Glisten's slight clumsiness, his constant bumping into things, and a few small incidents of Glisten missing Rodger completely when he went to grab the toon.

"No! My vision is perfect, just like the rest of me! I just... I don't have glasses, you're crazy."

"Glisten, it's not something to be embarrassed about. I think they look adorable on you."

Glisten seemed to pause at that. The praise always calmed him down just enough, it seemed. Rodger had learned about Glisten's need for reassurance, was it part of the reason Glisten wasn't wearing his glasses?

"Dearest, why don't you wear them more? I don't mean to upset you, but you aren't exactly the most graceful toon I know."

Glisten's eyes narrowed a bit at that, but he sighed regardless. Glisten opened his nightstand again, pulling out the glasses with an annoyed look. Glisten put them back on, looking away from Rodger.

"Glisten. Dear, tell me, please. If you need them, why don't you wear them?"

"Because they look stupid! And my vision is perfect, by the way! I don't need these. I get around just fine without them!"

"Glisten, dear, I've seen you walk into multiple walls. They look great on you, I promise. You look so handsome in them."

Glisten looked back at Rodger. His upset face seemed to be gone, replaced with a bit of curiosity. Glisten smiled, rolling over to grab Rodger and pull him onto the bed.

"Tell me that again, please."

Rodger would smile if he could, he spoke softly, nuzzling their frames together as he did so, "You're so handsome, Glisten. The prettiest toon in Gardenview. And those glasses look amazing on you. Please start wearing them more."

"Alright, alright. I'll wear them the next run we go on together." Glisten eventually gave in, kissing Rodger's handle before rolling off of him and letting Rodger stand. "Your magnifying glass should be on the vanity, by the way. I wanted to put a little something on it."

Rodger raised a brow as he wandered over to Glisten's vanity, finding his magnifying glass. The cracks in the lens were all patched up, and a slender pink ribbon was tied around the handle. Rodger felt a warm sense of appreciation bubble in his chest.

"Thank you, dear. I'll leave you to your reading. I love you."

"I love you, too. Goodnight, Rodger, don't stay out too late!"

"I won't!" Rodger nodded, taking his now found tool and leaving Glisten to continue reading, now with the discovery that Glisten had a lens prescription. Rodger hummed, glad to know more about his dearest Glisten with each day that passed. He lightly toyed with the bow tied around the magnifying glass as he made his way back to his office to receive his cases once more.
