Glisten hummed lazily from his place in bed. The education center was closed for today, a pipe had burst in the greenhouse so the building was closed off. This had given the toons a much needed break from their daily stresses, aside from Tisha, who was fussing over the amount of water that would be on the floor by the time repairs would finish. But, Glisten didn't care too much. And while Rodger was concerned for the safety of the other toons, he knew that everyone was safe and sound, so he took to relaxing as well.

Glisten had a small metal hook in one hand, and the tail end of a ball of yarn in the other. He worked slowly, moving the hook through a bit of yarn he'd already begun turning into a pair of gloves. He remembered Rodger mentioning that Toodles lost her mittens a few days ago, so he had gotten to work making new ones for her. It helped pass the time, so Glisten didn't mind crochet. Not to mention it allowed him to become more skilled.

Rodger sat behind him, Glisten's back against his chest. Rodger held a book open with one hand, out of Glisten's way as his free hand gently traced circles over Glisten's stomach. The gentle affection was always soothing for the pair.

The soft crackling of a radio could be heard from the desk in the corner of the room. The music it played was soft, piano keys drifting through the air. Glisten didn't mind it, Rodger enjoyed it. Glisten began to hum along to the tune, setting down his crochet hook and yarn to place one hand on top of Rodger's.

"Yes, dear?" Rodger hummed, his singular eye flicking to look at Glisten. The mirror stared back for a moment before he smiled, that same bright smile that melted Rodger's heart.

"I'd like a kiss." Glisten hummed. Rodger chuckled, setting his book down as he adjusted his hand to lay flat on Glisten. Rodger leaned down, laying his frame flat against Glisten's with his eye shut. Of course, tapping was a quick kiss. But this was more special. It lingered, allowed them to feel the chill of each other's glass, let them embrace the warmth the bloomed across them with each other's breath. Glisten had no idea where Rodger's breathing came from, but he didn't linger on the thought.

"Satisfied?" Rodger asked in a soft tone, pulling back just enough to cup Glisten's face in soft hands. The mirror toon shut his eyes, feeling Rodger's thumbs gently ghost across his cheeks.

"Very." Glisten responded. He gently kissed the inside of Rodger's palms before he turned back to his project and allowed the detective to return to his reading. Rodger returned his hands to their rightful place, turning a page in his book slowly.

"How many rows do you have left?" Rodger asked curiously. Glisten paused for a moment, counting up from his stitch marker under his breath. Rodger stifled a chuckle at the mumbling.

"Hey! Don't laugh! I am making perfect, and I have to count and make sure it's right!" Glisten huffed playfully, tapping the knot at the top of his head against Rodger's shirt collar. Just because Glisten was taller didn't mean he couldn't lay on top of the detective. And Rodger was happy to be a pillow if Glisten asked it of him.

"I have ten rows left." Glisten answered with a nod, "How many pages before the next chapter?"

Rodger briefly skimmed through the pages, keeping his eye trained on the numbers. He responded soon enough after figuring out how much longer it would be.

"About ten pages," He mused. He shut his eye for a moment, tapping against the top of Glisten's head before he returned to his reading.

Glisten nodded. The two returned to their silent activities, taking the occasional pause to kiss and snuggle, or get up for snacks and drinks. But, Glisten and Rodger were content there, enjoying their respective hobbies while taking in each other's presence.
