[More tooth rotting fluff for December <3 ALSO MORE CLINGY RODGER PROPAGANDA! Sorry this took so long I got MEGA writers block]
It was a calm day. The sun was starting to set, the winter sky going down all too quickly. And yet, many toons already retired to their rooms, exhausted. Glisten was one of the few still awake, leaning over the kitchen counter with a warm mug in his hands. He figured he was alone for the night, until he felt hands around his waist, coming to rest on his stomach.
"Rodger?"
The detective merely hummed in response, his fingers gently running along Glisten's abdomen. Glisten sighed, feeling Rodger's flat face nuzzle into his neck. Glisten set his mug down, turning around to look at his beloved magnifying glass. Rodger looked back at his, a genuine admiration in his cycloptic gaze. Glisten smiled, leaning in to kiss his glass and frame, even if Rodger couldn't exactly reciprocate.
While he never said it out loud, Rodger was always a bit frustrated at his lack of a mouth. Eating wasn't too much of a problem, food just got eaten. He didn't know how he did it, exactly, he simply did. But, he had no idea how to kiss his lover back. It made him want to throw his pen at a wall. This mild frustration with the inability to kiss led Rodger to be just a tad rougher than he would have liked as he bumped their frames together, wood and metal clinking together softly. Glisten didn't seem to mind, a sweet giggle escaping his lips.
"Aw, detective, what's got you being rough?"
Rodger sighed, "I wish I could kiss you."
Glisten blushed a bit at that. Rodger stared back, a craving in his heart, though one he could never satisfy. It left him annoyed. Glisten sighed, about to speak before Rodger pushed their frames together once more, this time, fully face to face. Glisten blinked at Rodger's closed eye, the glass incredibly close. He chuckled, kissing Rodger's face where he could.
"Are you satisfied yet?"
Rodger pulled back a bit, opening his eyes. He sighed. He wasn't exactly content with his inability to kiss properly, but clanking their faces together would do for now. Glisten sighed.
"How about something else then, hmm? We can do some reading and cuddle?" Glisten offered. Rodger finally seemed satisfied. Despite being mildly shorter than Glisten, Rodger grabbed the mirror toon in his arms and carried him out of the kitchen, Glisten's mug sitting forgot on the counter as they made their way to the bedroom.
"Oh, detective! Am I under arrest? What's the charge?" Glisten giggled.
"You're being arrested on a count of being adorable, the sentence is a night of cuddling with me." Rodger spoke in response, a smile evident in his voice.
Rodger set Glisten down on the bed, immediately flopping on top of him. This, unfortunately, knocked the wind out of the mirror toon, leaving him wheezing for a few moments as Rodger got comfortable.
"I love you, dear." Rodger hummed. He wrapped his hands around Glisten's own, squeezing them softly.
"I love you, too, Rodger. Even without kisses." Glisten teased. The two spent the rest of the evening wrapped in eachother's arms, clattering their faces together until they drifted off into the world of dreams once more.
