TW: toxic relationship, depression, negative self-esteem, anxiety, abuse, alluded sexual assault

Minho isn't sure what to expect as he steps into Chan and Jeongin's shared dorm.

It's probably just him imagining things, but the entire feel of the dorm is off, as though everything inside of it is on edge, waiting for something to happen.  Everything is too still, tense.

The air is thick, and his heart drops in his stomach as he hurries towards the open door of Chan's room, not bothering to stop to kick off his shoes.

He is nearly to the doorway when a scream pierces the stillness of the air, shattering Minho's heart.

It's guttural, horrible, a sound he hopes he will never have to hear again for as long as he lives.

He rushes through the doorway to Jeongin's side, eyes focused on the leader, still thrashing in his sleep, tears pouring down his face from his fluttering eyelids, sobbing out pleas in accented English, words that Minho is thankful he doesn't understand.

His eyes fall to the leader's chest, and despite the fact that he already knew, that Jeongin had already told him, he is still stunned.

How did the leader keep this hidden?

How did they not notice?

His chest is such a mess- there are so many injuries, too many to treat here at the dorm.

Minho swallows his nausea, the fear and pain of seeing Chan, their strongest member, the unbreakable leader, in this state.

"Chan-hyung. Wake up, please."

He repeats his words, tears prickling at the back of his own eyes, cursing his own helplessness.

It's all he can do to not break down sobbing, to keep a brave face for Jeongin.

He isn't sure how long he stands there, one hand wrapped around the maknae's shoulders, the other clutching one of Chan's, repeating his plea over and over.

Finally, slowly, Chan seems to calm down, his mumbles growing less frantic, the fear etched on his face slowly fading.

The moment the leader's nightmare seems to ease slightly, Minho sinks onto the bed, shaking his shoulder gently, careful of any injuries that he may have not seen yet.

"Channie-hyung. Wake up, hyung."

The leader's eyes fly open, wide and panicked, darting around the room as he sits up, chest heaving with gasping breaths.

He meets Minho's gaze hesitantly, tears pooling again in the corners of his eyes.

"Hush, hyung. It's okay."

Chan swallows, opening his mouth.

"M-Minho-"

The voice that comes out of the leader's mouth is small, broken, so unlike the usual confident Chan that Minho is used to seeing.

He forces a smile.

"What is it, hyung? Are you alright?"
