Happy Twenty Fourth of July everyone. This week has been amazing for DG(Devil's Grin). This is the third chapter up since Monday. So yah, I'm feeling pretty good. And a grand shout out to the lovely Ludocuba for trying to guess the new character. She got the gender and everything right except the name. Good try! pls enjoy the chapter and vote and comment. It makes it so much better for me as the writer when I read your responses to the story. It gives me the creative drive I need to do what I did this week. Keep them coming.

"All right you guys!" Luffy shouted, getting everyone's attention. "It's time to celebrate our newest crew members. Ussop and our new ship The Going Merry!" Zoro and Nami smiled as sake was passed out to everyone.

"Welcome aboard!" They all shouted.

"Man you guys are the greatest." Ussop cried out. "First you help me save my village. Then you let me on the ship so I can complete my dream of being a brave warrior of the sea! I promise I'll be the best captain you've ever had!" He shouted the last part as loud as he could.

"I'm the captain!" Luffy punched him in the head.

"Aren't you going to lay claim to the position of captain D?" Nami asked The Devil. "You did set things up, right?"

The Devil chuckled. "I'm most definitely not the captain." He leaned against the railing of the ship. "The captain is held responsible for the lives of the entire crew and make all the decisions." He explained to her. "That's why Luffy is the captain."

"Luffy, responsible?" She snorted. "Zoro is more responsible than he is."

"And yet Zoro isn't making a bid for the position. Why?" He countered.

"I don't know?" Nami said after she thought about it.

"That's because Luffy has earned his respect. For Zoro there isn't anyone else that could lead him. He simply wouldn't be capable of obeying." He chuckled. "Explains why he has turned down anyone who has tried to recruit him till now."

"Really?" Nami asked curiously. "Who has tried to recruit him?"

"The marines for one." The Devil answered. "As well as local gangs and organizations. He refuses to fight for anyone he sees as inferior."

"So that means he sees Luffy as someone superior." Nami finished the thought.

"That's right." The Devil smiled.

"Look out!" The Devil turned in time to be slammed into by Luffy, who had been thrown by Ussop. And because The Devil was leaning against the railing they both fell over.

"Crap!" Zoro said as he ran to jump in after them. "Ussop jump in and get one of them!"

Ussop jumped in after Zoro. He noticed that Zoro was going after D who had fallen deeper than Luffy so he went after Luffy.

'Man he's sinking fast!' Zoro thought as he swam towards D as fast as he could. Once he managed to get to him he grabbed him and began swimming back to the surface. He swam as hard as he could, his lungs nearly at their limit. It felt like the ocean itself was weighing him down.

"What's taking Zoro do long?" Nami asked Ussop who had come up first with Luffy.

"Im not sure. D was further down and looked like he was sinking faster cause of his cowl." Ussop answered as he watched for Zoro to surface so he could help him pull D out. He hadn't meant to knock them into the ocean. Him and Luffy had started rough housing. And things had gotten a little to rough.

"There he is!" Nami cried out as she pointed towards the rear of the ship.

Ussop quickly grabbed a rope and rushed to where she had pointed. As soon as he saw Zoro he threw the rope to him and began pulling him to the ship.
