11- The Treatment

(Kylee POV)
I get out of bed and begin getting dressed for my doctors appointment today which will be to get me started on some medication to help get rid of my cancer. After getting my clothes on I headed to the kitchen for some breakfast, and when I got there Carter was siting at the bar texting on his phone. "Good morning," I say trying to get him to talk to me. He looks up at me for just a second then goes back to typing on his phone. Carter hasn't talked to me since I ran off with Cason over a week ago, even though I tried telling him all we did was go eat. "Carter please talk to me," I begin begging him. He still said nothing just contained to ignore me as he got up form the bar grabbed his keys and left for school. My Aunt has no idea that Carter and I got into a fight because if she knew she would have told Carter to take me to the doctor. I knew he had forgotten that Aunt Sarah's job wouldn't let her off today because of the way he just left me her so I grab the keys to my car and headed to the doctor.

I make it to the hospital early so I decide to stop by my brothers room and see if there had been any improvements in him since I seen him a couple days ago. "Hey little man, I wish you would wake up so we could start having some fun together," I tell him as I move his hair out of his face. "I have a doctors appointment so I have to go but I will be back to see you later," I say as I kiss his forehead before exiting the room and head back downstairs to the clinic. Must I was stepping onto the elevator my phone begin to ring. "Hello," I answer without even looking at who was calling. "Where are you at?" Drew asks over the phone. "I'm fixing to get off the elevator at the doctors office," I tell him as I step off the elevator. "Where are you," I ask him. "I'm right here," I here him say but it wasn't over the phone. "What are you doing here and how did you knew about my appointment," I say as I hug him. "Well Carter told me you guys weren't taking and I heard mom tell him he would have to bring you to your appointment," He says before releasing me from the hug. "So you drove down here just to take me to my appointment, but what about school," I as with concern. "It's ok it's only testing today and tomorrow and I'm exempt form them so I decided to come be with you," he says shrugging his shoulders. "Well thanks a lot for coming," I say sincerely.  "Anything for you," he say with a wink causing me to laugh.

it wasn't long after I checked in I got called back to see the doctor. "So Kylee how have you been feeling?" Dr. Brown asked me as he changed my vitals. "I'm felt fine for the most part maybe a little more tired then usually, but I think that may be because I started back school almost two weeks ago. "Well if you experience anything unusual you let me know," he say as he finishes checking my vitals. "Ok well everything looks good, so I think we can go ahead and get you on some medication to treat your cancer, but I have to tell you the medication can mess with your emotions, but if at any point you fill they are making you depressed I want you to let me know," he tells me as he writes my proscription down. "Ok I will," I tell him as I take the proscription from him and follow him out of the room. "Try and stay away from things that upset you," he says warns me before letting me back out into the waiting area.

"Well how did it go," Drew asked me when I made it to him. "It when fine I have a prescription to start taking that schools help my cancer," I tell him leaving off the possible depression part not wanting to scare him. "Ok well how about we drop your car off my the house then we can go get your prescription and maybe we can find some other stuff to do since we have the whole day free," he says to me as he takes my hand and leads me out the door and to our cars. "That's sounds good to me I will see you when we get to the house," I tell him as we get to my car. "Ok see you there," he says as he heads to his car which is park across from mine.

After getting my prescription we both decide to go see the new scary movie Gallows. "Are you sure you can handle watching a scary movie," he ask me with laughter in his voice. "Yes I'm not a baby, I have seen plenty of scary movies in my life time," I tell him rolling my eyes. "Ok will see about that how about we make a bet," he says with a smirk ok fine what to do want to bet. "I bet you $20 that you can't watch the movie without screaming at least once." He says after think for a minute. "Ok and what do I have to give you if I lose, because I don't have $20 dollars," I ask him not caring what he wants since I know I'm going to win anyway. "How about if you lose you have to kiss me," he says smirking. "Fine you aren't going to win anyway,"
I say shrugging my shoulders. "Yeah right," he says to me laughing as we begin making our way into the theater.

When the movie started it wasn't even thirty minutes into the movie I jumped and let out a loud scream because something jumped out unexpectedly which caused Drew to burst out laughing. "That was not funny," I tell him slapping him lightly on the chest. "Yes it was and I win the bet so you have to pay up when the movie is over," he told me," with a smirk I could tell was on his face even though it's dark. "This isn't fair I didn't  know this movie was going to be this scary," I say with a huff while trying to hold back my laughter. We continue to watch the movie and every time I would jump or scream Drew would laugh at me. As we exit the theater I could help but laugh at Drew and his impressions of the way I acted in the theater. "You think you are so funny don't you," I say to him. "I don't think, I know I am," he says causing us both to go into fits of laughter.

As we make it back to the house, I realize we are still early because school doesn't let out for another hour. "So what are we going to do now," I ask him not really wanting to just sit around the house. "Well we can go swimming," he suggest. "Ok rant sounds good," I say as I head to my room to get my swimming suit on. Just as I reached my door I was spun around to face Drew, and before I even had time to react his lips were on mine. The kiss was soft unlike the kiss we shared before and it only lasted for a moment, then it was over. "Drew we can't keep doing this," I say breathless. "Why not you can't tell me you don't feel something for me," he says to me softly. "Because it's not fair to either us to keep doing this knowing we can't be together, your mom would have a fit, because your almost five years older then me and it's also illegal," I say relay not wanting to hurt him. "So what then you just want us to be friends," he asked me with a hint of hurt in his eyes. "Yes that's probably for the best," I tell him honestly. "Ok then friends it is," he says holding his had out to me. "Friends it is," I repeat as I shake his hand. We both went our separate ways so that we could finish getting ready to swim.
