21- The Beginning Of An End!

(Kylee POV)
"So your telling me I have to start chemo today," I ask the doctor after just being told that my cancer has worsened. "Well yes I would like to start you on it today, because the sooner we start the treatment the better chance we have at beating the cancer," he tell me honestly. "What if I don't want to do the chemo is there something else we can try?" I ask hoping for a different solution. "There is nothing else," he say apologetic. "So I don't have a choice," I ask him already knowing the answer. "I'm sorry but know you really don't," he say before sitting in front of me. "Ok so what are the side effects of the chemo, will I loose my hair and be sleepy all the time," I ask him in a scared tone. "No you want loose your hair, but you may feel sleepy a lot, and the chemo also could make you infertile." He say as he hands me an information pamphlet. "Wait so your saying I may never be able to have kids," I ask him sadly. "Yes it's a possibility, but you need this treatment to survive so we can worry about that whe the time come," he says trying to not make a big deal of what he just told me. "What about school, will I still be able to graduate this year," I ask him not wanting to be set back. "You can do all your class work here, and you will still be able to graduate but that doesn't mean you will be able to walk, because that depends on if you are well enough and if you immune system can handle it," he informs me. "Ok," I say sadly knowing I had no other choice then to do the treatment.

(Carter POV)
I was at my dads for the weekend when I got the call yesterday about Kylee collapsing again and to say that I was freaked out would be an understatement. I get to the hospital to find out from my mom that Kylee's cancer has worsened and now all I can think about is what will I do if I loose her forever. "Can I help you sir," the jeweler ask me kindly. "Yes I would like to look at your engagement rings," I tell her as I snap out of my thinking. "Sure they are right here," she says pointing to the display in front of me. "How much are you willing to spend," she ask me as she opens the display to pull out some rings for me to look at. "I have six hundred," I tell her as I hope I have enough. "Ok I have a couple for you to choose from," she say as she pulls out two rings and sits them in front of me. "I like the gold one how much is it," I ask her knowing it was the perfect ring. "It's on sale for four hundred fifty dollars," she says as she puts the other ring up. "Ok I will take it," I say before following her to the register. "I really hope she says yes," I think to myself as my nerves begin to sit in and even though I would have never thought I would be married right out of high school life is to short to take chances. "So how do you plan on popping the question?" she asked me sweetly as I pay for the ring. "I'm not sure yet but graduation is coming up the end of next month so I think I'm going to do it then," I tell her happily as I thought about Kylee and how I would be spending the rest of my life with my best friend.

(Drew POV)
Having Kylee collapse in my arms was the scariest thing I have ever encountered in my life and is got me thinking how life is to short to let the ones we love slip through our fingers which is why I have decided that since Kylee turns eighteen a week after she graduates that I'm going to confess my feelings for her and ask her to marry me. "Dad can I know we haven't really talked much lately but I was wanting to ask you something," I say as soon as my dad opens the door to his house. "Son is ok I know we have had are differences but I'm here for you," he says as he hugs me. "Dad I was wondering if you would give me grandmothers engagement ring," I ask nervously. "Son are you telling me you are going to ask some girl to marry you," he asked me curiously. "Dad she not just some girl, I have loved Kylee since we were little and I don't want to hide my fillings for her any longer," I say as tears form in my eyes. "Son I'm happy for you, but you need to make sure your doing the right thing because you know that she is dating your bother and you don't want to ruin things with him," he say trying to warn me to be careful. "I know and I'm going to talk to him but I just don't know how to go about it," I say honestly. "Just be truthful with him and if he loves her and you then he will let her make her own decisions about who she wants to be with. "Thanks dad I know she has feelings for me but mom thinks I'm to old to be with her so that why neither of us have said anything," I tell him truthfully. "Your mom is just trying to protect Kylee because she has been through so much this last year and as far as you wanting to marry her, I think if you are honest with your mother she will be happy for you both," he says as he hands me the box which hold my grandmothers ring. "Thinks dad I will make sure it is taking care of," I say as I give him one last hug before heading out the door to my car so that I could get back to the hospital and see Kylee before visiting hours where over.

OMG can you believe both Carter and Drew are going to ask Kylee to marry them, who will get to her first? Who will se choose?
I guess you all will just have to keep reading to find out as this books starts coming to an end, there are only a few chapters left.
