Yagyhavi's pov:

I felt my heartbeat quicken with every passing second as we got closer to our destination.

Samar's presence beside me was comforting, his hand intertwined with mine, while his other hand held his phone.

His eyes were focused on the screen, scrolling through something, but his thumb gently ran over the back of my hand as if to remind me he was right here.

We were in Jaipur — his city, going to his home.

Yes, you heard that right. We were on our way to his house.

It had been three weeks since we had that conversation, the one where he told me he was going to his hometown to celebrate his niece and nephew's first birthday.

He had said, "If you want to come, you can. If not, that's fine too."

For three weeks, that thought stayed in my head, playing over and over like a song on repeat. Should I go? Was I ready to take this step? Was this too soon?

But Samar on the other hand, never brought it up again, not even once.

I knew it was his way of giving me the space to decide without any pressure.

In those three weeks, life with Samar felt... different, in the best way possible.

We talked every day; on calls, through texts, and in person.

We went to watch movies, shared lunches, and spent evenings just walking and talking, shared moments that felt so natural, like we'd known each other forever.

With every passing day, I found myself getting more comfortable around him.

It was as if things shifted seamlessly without me even realizing it.

And so, when the day came closer, I finally made up my mind. I wanted to go.

Not because I felt obligated or because it was a big step, but because I wanted to be there; with him. To see the world, he came from, to understand him better.

I had told Baba that I was going with Rashmi, as she always came to my rescue in such situations.

Rashmi had also told her family that she was traveling with me and a few other friends, though she was actually going with Aditya.

Baba didn't hesitate to agree because he himself was planning to go to Chandigarh again for work.

He probably would have thought, What would she do alone at home anyway?

But I wasn't entirely in favor of him going to Chandigarh, especially after noticing how his health had seemed a bit off lately. He looked a little tired, a little down.

I had been taking care of him, making sure he was eating properly, taking medicines, and I even asked him if he was feeling any work pressure.

He reassured me, saying everything was fine, but I still felt uneasy.

When Baba wasn't feeling well, I had made up my mind; I wouldn't go to Jaipur with Samar. It just didn't feel right to leave him alone when he wasn't at his best.

But then, after a few days, his health started improving. He looked more like himself, and he even told me he had to go to Chandigarh for some urgent work.
