                           Elizabeth's pov

The bell rang to announce the end of fourth period and the start of lunch and I quickly grabbed my stuff, speed walking out of the class room so I wouldn't get in trouble for running again.

I put my stuff in my locker and grabbed my lunchbox before heading off to Adam's locker. When I got there, he was just closing his locker. He looked at me and nodded in acknowledgment. "Hey, ready for lunch?"

I nodded and we started walking together to the cafeteria. "So, what did you do yesterday since you didn't have a phone?" He asked. "Maybe homework? Since you never usually do it."

"Haha." I chuckled dryly. "Not much, really." I didn't wanna tell him about going to the studio with Taylor or anything in case Taylor didn't want me to. I knew she didn't want me to mention Rep Tv but she didn't say anything about going to the studio at all, but just in case, I didn't say anything. "And for your information." I continued. "I have been doing my homework recently... 'Cause Taylor said I had to. Ha!"

Adam just rolled his eyes and we continued our way to the lunchroom. When we got there, Adam went to get lunch and I went ahead and sat down in our usual spot.

I got out all my food but decided to wait until Adam got out here to eat it. A few minutes later, someone sat down next to me and I glanced over, expecting to see Adam, but was met with the boy from earlier. I sighed and looked back at my food.

"Hey, Lizzie." He said and I could feel the smirk in his voice.

"Don't call me that." I replied blandly, still not looking at him.

"Why are you sitting over here all by yourself?" He asked.

"I'm waiting for my friend." I replied. "And you're in his seat."

"Oh, my bad." He said, but didn't make any move to get up. "I'll keep you company then! So, what else should I know about you? You listen to music?"

I shrugged, nodding a little bit.

"Who's your favorite musician?" He asked and I glanced at him. This is what I call the ultimate test. Depending on how someone reacts when you tell them you're a swiftie, determines their whole personality.

"Taylor Swift." I said, glancing at him to gauge a reaction.

"Ok, ok. I fuck with her, she's cool." He replied and I furrowed my eyebrows, not expecting him to say that. "Really?"

"Yeah." He nodded. "She's got some bangers. Blank Space's good. She's pretty hot, too. So that's a plus."

I should've expected the hot thing. He is a teenage boy so that's expected, but his reaction genuinely made me smile a little bit. Shortly after, I saw Adam walking up to our table. He stopped behind Cal and furrowed his eyebrows.

"Okay, you can go now. I don't need you to 'keep me company' anymore." I said, and he glanced behind him to see Adam standing there. "Okay, okay, I guess I'll go. See you later, Lizzie." He said, standing up and starting to walk away.

I sighed. "I said don't call me that!"

Adam watched Cal walk away before he sat down. "Who's that guy?"

"He's new." I replied. "He came up to my locker this morning and started talking to me. And then he just walked up and sat down next to me."

Adam furrowed his eyebrows. "Sounds like he likes you."

"What?" I asked. "No he doesn't. He's just new and wants to make friends."

"If you say so." Adam replied, taking a bite from his food.
