Elizabeth's Pov

Throughout the lunch, Taylor and Abigail talked more about Jeff and their high school days. It was really fun and relaxing, and helped me forget about all the other thoughts controlling my mind.

At the end of lunch, Taylor and I both hugged Abigail tightly, and she told us that we needed to hang out more often, which I would actually love. Abigail always has a way of making my mind go blank of any problems, which came in handy for this specific occurrence.

Taylor drove us home, and she made her way to the living room, where I assumed Travis was, and I walked up to my bedroom to try, emphasis on try, to do my homework.

A few hours later, I was about halfway into trying to figure out where the fuck letters belonged in math when I saw my phone buzz on the desk.

I picked up the phone to see a text from Adam, which weirdly made my stomach tingly, which is something that has never happened before.

Adam🍎🍎

Hey, do you think you're available tomorrow at around one?

I thought about it for a second. Taylor never told me about any plans, but I'm sure it didn't matter. And besides, maybe this is something that I want to hear.

Me: Yeah, sure. Everything okay?

I only had to wait a few seconds for his reply to come through.

Yep, everything's good. Just wanted to talk to you about something and figured I could do it in person. Wanna meet me at our usual spot at one?

Could this be something that I've been talking and having so many internal crises's about for the past few days?

Me: See ya then!

I set my phone back down on my desk and let out a nervous sigh. I feel like I'm definitely overthinking it. Just because he wants to talk to me in person doesn't mean that he's gonna confess that he likes me or anything. That's just what I'm thinking about since that's all I can really think about right now.

I got back to my stupid homework, and a little while later, I heard a voice from downstairs.

"Liz! Dinners are ready!"

Finally, anything to be done with this shit.

After we got into the house, Liz made a beeline for her room, and I went off to find Travis, and by the sound of football commentary coming from the living room, I found him.

When I walked in, he was lying down on the couch with his head propped up on the armrest and his hands nursing a beer, the bottom of it sitting on his chest, and his hands wrapped around it.

He noticed me pretty quickly, and his face lit up. "Hey, pretty girl. How was lunch? You were gone a while."

I climbed on top of him and lay my head onto his chest, "Yeah, we haven't seen each other in a while, so after we ate, we just got caught up in talking. Ended up being a while," I replied.

"Well, I'm glad you two got to catch up. I'm sure you had a lot to say. Did Liz have fun?" Travis asked.

"Yep," I nodded. "I think... she might have a little crush."
