Elizabeth's pov
It's been around a week since I started feeling as if the relationship between Adam and me might be changing. I've been doing what I could to just push the thought away from my head, but it wasn't as easy as I thought.
I still talked to Adam, at least at school. I still don't have a phone due to the grounding, and I still have to come straight home after school, not like I didn't do that before anyway, but right now I'm stuck to just seeing him at school.
He hasn't seemed to notice anything different going on with me. And if he has, he hasn't said anything.
I really wasn't sure what I was supposed to do, so I decided to try and talk to Taylor and see if she had ever had any experiences with developing feelings for a close friend.
I walked in the door after school and headed towards the living room, where Taylor usually was. When I walked in, I was met with Travis instead, who was sitting on the couch watching some football game that I couldn't care less about. But I wouldn't tell him that 'cause I don't want to hurt his feelings. The big buff guys are usually pretty sensitive.
"Hey, Liz! How was school?" He asked when he noticed my presence.
"Oh, good," I replied. "Uh, where Taylor?"
"She's upstairs in our bedroom," Travis replied. "She's about to go out to lunch with Abigail, I think."
"Okay, thanks," I replied, already making my way upstairs.
I stopped by my room first and set my backpack inside before walking over to Taylor's room.
I knocked and heard a 'come in!' shortly after.
I walked into the room and saw Taylor sitting at her vanity, straightening her hair.
"Hey, sweetie. How was school?" She asked.
"Good," I replied, climbing onto her bed. "Why do you straighten your hair so much? I mean, I've seen online that your fans think you should keep it curly more."
"I've just been straightening it since I was in middle school," Taylor replied, holding the straightener to the top of a part of her hair before moving it down to straighten the rest and then moving on to another part. "It used to be really curly when I was younger, and some kids in middle school would make fun of me because of it, for some dumb reason. So I used to get up at like five am just to straighten it," She explained.
"Wow, middle schoolers really do suck," I replied.
"Eh, they have their moments," Taylor shrugged, her eyes focused on the mirror in front of her. "So what's up?"
"Oh, uh. I just was curious about something and thought I'd ask you about it," I replied.
"Alright, I'm full of ancient wisdom, so go for it," Taylor replied, most of her gaze fixed on her hair, but letting her eyes flicker up to meet my eyes so I knew that she was listening.
"Was there ever a time," I cleared my throat, hoping that I could phrase this in a way that didn't seem like I was asking Taylor this for personal reasons, "Where you, uh, had a friend that you... I guess, developed feelings for?"
Taylor's eyes squinted slightly as if she was thinking about what made me ask this question.
"Hm, why do you ask?" Taylor questioned.
