Elizabeth's pov
The next morning, I woke up to a Goodmorning text from Cal that made my heart flutter. I pinched myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming before I got out of bed and headed downstairs to see if Taylor had made breakfast.
When I walked in, Taylor was standing at the stove, flipping a pancake, yes!
"Good morning." I said, going over to the fridge to get some orange juice.
"Good morning!" Taylor replied. "Did you sleep well?"
"I nodded. "Yep."
"Good, good. So... are you gonna tell me about your date last night?" Taylor asked and I blushed, I should've know that question was coming.
"Awe, you're blushing. It had to have been good. Spill!" Taylor exclaimed.
So I told her how everything went, about the date and the ice cream afterwards, and about how much fun we had and even about the good morning text.
"Well it sounds like you had a great time!" Taylor smiled, and I nodded.
"Who had a great time?" Travis asked, suddenly walking into the room and making his presence known.
"Liz, on her date last night." Taylor replied as Travis walked by her to get to the fridge. "Is that right?" He asked, pulling out the carton of orange juice.
"Yeah." I nodded.
"Well, I'm glad you had fun, kiddo." Travis replied, pouring himself some orange juice and setting it on the table before turning back around and wrapping his arms around Taylor's waist, placing kisses on her neck and she giggled.
"Ugh," I gagged. "Can I at least get my food down before I throw it back up?"
*******
I texted Cal a little more but didn't see him in person until that Monday when we had school.
Our fourth period classes were pretty close to each other so usually after the bell rings, who ever gets out first will just wait for the other person so we can walk to lunch together.
Today, I walked out first and waited around five minutes for Cal to walk out which was a little unusual since other people had already walked out and usually it doesn't take this long.
But eventually he walked out, talking to another girl that I didn't recognize. She was an inch or two shorter than me with black hair and brown eyes.
When Cal noticed me waiting for him, he nodded at the girl and said goodbye, walking up to me. "Hey, Liz."
"Hey." I smiled. "Who was that? I don't think I've seen her before?"
"Oh, she's new" he shrugged. "She started a few days after me, I think."
"Oh, okay. Cool, cool." I replied. "So, ready for lunch."
"Yep." He nodded. "Actually, do you mind if Vanessa sits with us?" He asked, that must be the new girl's name. "She doesn't really know anyone yet and I definitely know what that feels like. So, yeah. Is that cool?"
"Oh, uh. Yeah, I guess." I shrugged. I was hoping it would just be me, Cal, and Adam but who knows, maybe this girl's cool.
"Awesome." Cal said as we started walking towards the cafeteria. When we got there, Cal headed to the lunch line to get his lunch and I walked over to our usual spot to wait for him or Adam to come over. Or, I guess, this Vanessa girl.
